What to do with tons of flannel receiving blankets

Sorting through dd's old baby stuff to prepare for dd #2 in Dec... and realized I have a BOATLOAD of those round-edged, flannel baby blankets. Way more than I need-- some were never used.

I'm a novice sewer but I want to use them-- any ideas? My best one yet is drawstring bags for toys. DD is almost 4 and getting into toys that have a lot of components-- memory games, dominoes, etc. Figured we can try to keep them organized and out of new baby's mouth that way.

Also thought of maybe doing a pennant garland for the new baby's space.

Anyone done something creative/ functional with these things? The prints are mostly cute-- definitely girly, though. Would love your input, crafty mamas!

they could be made into prefold dipes, wipes, wash cloths, burp cloths, family cloth (tp), doll blankets, doll pillows, bean bags, a doll sling so dd can carry her babies like you'll carry your new babe?

I like your drawstring bag idea, and if you line the bag w/something waterproof or at least thicker the bag could be carried in your diaper bag for soiled dipes or clothes

Not op here, but Thank you so much! I needed some more wash cloths to have in the kitchen for messy faces - used my pinking shears and voila, new face cloths.

I made some fitted diapers and wipes from my old receiving blankets. DS also wore one as a sling (just tied) to carry his 'baby' after DD was born.

i have saved the nice ones and i plan to make a memory quilt with them and some special pieces of clothing and stuff.. this winter hopefully!

have also used not so nice ones as wipes! and rags for cleaning
