Just got my Ergo in the mail. Small problem.

I just recieved the Ergo carrier that I ordered, and I love it. My twin boys are 7 1/2 months old, and I haven't really been doing any babywearing up to now because I hadn't found a system that really worked for me. I have a Moby Wrap, but I got overwhelmed with it and gave up early on. I got a Hotsling more recently and found it marginally usable for a brief while, but never got into it as a regular thing; not comfortable enough for either me or my babies.

The Ergo seems like it is finally really going to work. The only problem is that this one seems to have a small defect; a missing D ring on one of the shoulder straps where the hood strap is supposed to go. (They are supposed to have two of them aren't they?)

My issue is that at this point I can't bear the idea of being without it for the couple of weeks it would take to send it back and get a replacement. It's already so late in the game to begin seriously babywearing. On the other hand, it was a substantial investment of money, and I don't want to lose resail value on it for when I put it on Craigslist.

What do you think I should do?

yep, only one D ring. The hood attaches via snaps, so you should be good to go.

What kind of Ergo did you get? My Ergo Sport has 2 D-rings for the hood. But regular Ergos have only one. The hood snaps to the straps.

My only has 1 & I've noticed other women's I've seen only has 1 as well. But if I recall the dvd shows 2. Not sure what the descrepancy is.

Thanks for the info. It's kind of counterintuitive that it would only have one ring, and it looked like the one in the DVD had two too, but I guess they are really only supposed to have one. Glad to know that I don't have a defective product.

I really, really do like it.

I've only had mine about a week and we love it!

I have a previous generation ergo, which *does* have two d-rings. The hood has straps which thread through the d-rings and snap back onto themselves.

I'm pretty sure the newer version might only have one, to use to clip things to (like the little retractable mirror).

The older ones (the ones in the video) have 2 d rings. You used to run the hood straps through the d-rings and snap them to themselves. Newer ergos have one d-ring and the hood straps snap directly to the shoulder straps, which I find way easier to do than the old way.
