Favorite deodorant for DH?

URGH... so tired of DH's deodorant. He wears degree. Whatever scent of that brand he wears drives me nuts. It stays on his clothes, wash after wash, and is so obnoxious. I smell the armpits of his shirts after a fresh load of laundry and it makes me angry!

I've smelled other "conventional" deodorants from wherever (brands carried at target, grocery stores... etc) and can't handle them either. They are all so irritating to my nose (in that the smell annoys me.)

I like my deodorant, toms of maine apricot, but I don't know if that brand can handle his.. ahem.. BO

Any suggestions?? This has been driving me batty for months now!!!

DH uses one from "Organic Grooming" (I think???), it's in a black container, and with their other products, like cologne and shaving creme. Works well, and smells nice. I've grabbed it a few times actually. Sort of like what I *remember* CK One smelling like. But since I have not smelled that since highschool, I may be mistaken about that.

Where do you find the stuff? any local stores carry them?

we get it from frontier, but most health food stores carry it...it's the same company that makes the crystal stone deodorant...they also have a roll-on, but i like the spray best. i recently got a recommendation for "naturally fresh" deodorant, which is the same concept (mineral salts), but it comes scented and unscented. i've been thinking about trying it, but haven't yet. i just emailed them today to find out what they use for fragrance. anyway, that one's available at target.

I made DH switch to Toms of maine unscented. For some reason his deodorant just became too much for me. I hadnt really smelled the "perfume" type scent in it before (not sure if they changed the make up of it or not) but literally it was sooooo strong. I made DH get up and shower one night because it was giving me a headache, could smell on laundered clothes and whatnot. The toms seems to work well, he does reapply mid day (he runs in the am and is quite active in the day anyway) but I have used it as well (to see if I like) and I havent had any *moisture* issues.

My dh uses regular 'ol nasty stuff, BUT my dad uses Funk Butter with great success. He gets the fig scent, but it's available in unscented too.

Dp has always worn Tom's of Maine in the woodspice scent.

I've been meaning to start a thread asking the same question! I've tried a few natural deodorants on DH (can't remember what brands), and they all stained his shirts! Has anyone else had a problem with that?

Great topic. My hubby tried the Toms of Maine, but he's kind of a sweaty guy and he works construction. He really doesn't want to put on deodorant every couple of hours, and that's what he had to do with this brand. He's convinced that all the less toxic brands are like that. I'd love to hear recommendations for something STRONG.

My dh tried the Tom's and hates it. He uses Thursday's Plantation unscented. I can't stand when he uses anything scented...it creeps me right out! My m-i-l gave him some mary kayshaving cream and since he was out of our good stuff and we hate waste he's been using it...BLAH

He has tried Tom's and Jasons but likes GudonyaToo best. The GudonyaToo is from Etsy.

I need to sub to this thread. We are in dire need of strong natural deoderant. My dh doesn't like to wear the salt kind because he says that it still has aluminum in it.

I just tried making my own. Someone on another thread put out the recipe. It's working good for me so far. He's trying it for the first time today. It's equal parts baking soda, corn starch, coconut oil, and shea butter. I already had those ingredients. I also added a few drops of tea tree oil.

I am using Funk Butter (found online), and that is the best I have found (I tried EVERYTHING). Somebody recommended it in a thread a few months ago.

What a timely post. My husband has just told me his new natural deodorant 'abandons' him during the day. We have been on a quest for years to find something that works! Now he is thinking about going back to regular supermarket stuff .
I'll be ordering some funk butter today!
