My great grandpa died.

He was 103. I'm thankful he is not suffering anymore, but I'm going to miss him so much. He had cancer pretty much everywhere that cancer could grow. He would get a pimple like sore.....it would burst and he'd have an open wound. He was in so much pain.

He couldn't see and could barely hear. I had wrote an email to the nursing home a couple of days ago asking if I could email them a letter for someone to read to my grandpa. I wanted to tell him all about my kids that he was never able to meet (his great-great grandkids). I got an email back today saying how sorry they were that they only got the email today.

I'm so sorry. What a long life he had, that's pretty remarkable. And that is heartbreaking about the letter. That is so sad

I'm so sorry for your loss.

When my Grandma died, the nursing home gave my Dad the mail that she received just before and after she died. The last letter that I wrote her was in there unopened. I'm sorry that he didn't get a chance to hear about your kids.

Thanks everyone.

My great-grandpa was awesome. Every single vehicle he owned was either buries or parked on his acerage. He and my great-grandpa lived on this super cool farm. The stairs going to the upstairs were like climbing up a ladder. There was a storm celler that we loved playing in. It was always so cool opening up a big door in your kitchen floor! They had no running water. Every morning we'd wake up, walk down to the pump house with a bucket and and get water for the day to drink. The bucket would sit in the kitchen covered with a tea towel. That water tasted awesome. Then we'd go pick potatoes and vegetables for the day. Every single meal had potatoes. My great grandma always dug out the "fine china" when we came to visit. LOL. She used the wicker circle things that held the paper plates. And then there was the two seater outhouse. LOL. Nothing like taking a poop with someone special sitting beside you. HA! The first time my grandpa had running water was when he had to sell the farm and move into town when he was in his early 90's. Being alone on the farm was just too hard after my great grandma passed away. What an amazing life he had.
