It's tonight! Two hours!

I couldn't watch it last night. We've got a problem with our digital tuner so no tv. So I watched it this morning online. It was a big improvement over the last two seasons.

I'm so happy Danko got killed off. I like what they're doing with Peter, Claire, Hiro, and the Nathan/Sylar thing isn't as goofy as I thought it would be.

What's up with the compasses? At the beginining of the show the guy who was burying his brother had a compass in his hand and tossed it in the grave. It didn't move. Later when Peter held it it was spinning like crazy. Its not like it indicates powers because the Carney guy (sorry, didn't catch his name) had powers too.

ooh i really want to read the spoiler but don't want to spoil it for myself damn you bbc

The Carny's name was Samuel

I loved it - great episode - did NOT feel like 2 hours...

DH thinks there's going to be something up with Gretchen

I don't think so. I don't think she has any special powers. In all the preview stuff before the new season they just said that she would be a friend of Claire's and that they would be experimenting in lesbianism at college.

We finally watched it last night. Great episode. Yay, I'm glad Danko is dead, too!

Lydia, oh Lydia, the tattooed lady. I like Samuel's tattoo powers. Lydia and Samuel are both biblical names.

The fight scene between Peter and Speedy Carney guy was neat.

Just waiting to see what the compass is all about.

So Claire proved that her room mate did actually jump. But it seems clear that she didn't commit suicide. So maybe she was manipulated into jumping.

I think there can still be more to Gretchen than just friendship. She came on too strong, IMO.

Did anyone else think Hayden Pannettiere's voice has gotten lower??

Edited to add, http://tv.ign.com/articles/100/1001953p1.html about Lydia

Edited to add, Speedy Carney guy's name is Edgar, and he's played by Ray Park, who was Darth Maul in Star Wars.

Well, I don't trust her. Also, that deal with the guitar hero game where she commented that she seemed to keep getting better as she played. Either she has some musical power, or she lied about having never played before. I think she's off. She almost seems to be trying to make no one else like Claire. She is also seeming stalkerish to me. Why is she always there? I think she knew who Claire was before they 'bumped' into each other.

Ink painting dude has a spinning compass painted inside his left wrist. He wants his compass back. I believe the other guy (who threw it in the grave) stole it from him to remove part of his powers.

I also think Gretchen killed Claire's roommate.

Nope. Samuel was both the guy with the compass on his wrist and he was the one who threw the first compass in the grave. The compass that he threw in the grave was not spinning. Later he had Ray Park's character steal the 2nd compass from Noah Bennet. The 2nd compass had a broken glass in it but spun like crazy when Peter held it. Interesting.

I thought so too. I knew he would be doing something cool when I saw that it was Ray Park. No more fights behind closed doors where we only see lightening through the door crack like last season's finale.

So what did you guys think about last night's episode?

Warning :: Spoiler Ahead! Highlight to read message!
I'm not sure where they're going with the hearing impaired woman who could make light from music. Is she the one who blew the crater in the park at the end of the episode?

Gretchen is getting really annoying.

I kind of liked the scenes with Samuel and Peter just talking. I don't know why Samuel gave Peter his ink ability though. Maybe its a test to see what Peter can do with it.

I haven't watched last night episode yet, but I am irritated about something. Maybe one of you has a better insight, and it won't bother me so much.

OK. How many carnivals travel all over the world and speak other languages? I mean, some crappy carnival coming to Japan? Someone make this right for me!

Also, I don't like Gretchen. She is too stalker-ish. If Claire wants to experiment, it should be with someone cooler. Maybe I will like her better if she has some power!

Also, I am irritated with NBC for giving Hiro a terminal illness. They better rectify that pronto. He's the most appealing character on the show! Quit messing with his powers already!

Does anyone else recognize Gretchen? She was Gracie Sheffield...the youngest kid on The Nanny! (yes, I'm well aware I need a life...)

I watching the rerun on G4 this season because of tivo conflicts, cant wait till tonight!

I loved the scene with Emma seeing cello music in color. I thought it was beautiful.

I agree about the Hiro illness. He and Ando are very interesting characters and the show would not be the same without them both. I still can't help but wonder what was done with Nathan's body. And why haven't they pumped some Claire blood into him again? And, since he already had been revived with Claire blood, why isn't there still some in his body?

I don't like Gretchen. She annoys the crap out of me and what bothers me more is that Claire thinks some annoying wench is a 'friend'. How is she a friend? She's done nothing friendly or kind to Claire. She stalked her, she teased her, controlled her, but was never a friend.

I agree. She was much cuter on The Nanny.

I'm enjoying Peter actually having some energy to him. Instead of just standing around straining himself while he attempts to figure things out, he's actually *talking*. Nice to see. But then again, Peter is always nice to see for me,
