I'm (not) having real contractions! - Update post #15

I dunno yet if they're going to get me anywhere, but I've been having "real" contractions for several hours now. I first noticed them around 2 pm, and when I timed them around 5 pm, they were about 10 minutes apart. I think they're just a hair closer together now. Hard to tell, since I'm trying not to focus on them too much.

Send me some good labor vibes!!

Can I have some of those cntx pls?

Sounds good! Hope this is it for you.

Just talked to my doula today and her advice was to go about my normal life until I couldn't ignore labor anymore (when something starts for me that is). So I think your approach to not focus too much on the contrax yet is a good one. . .but its so hard to do!

Good labor vibes to you.

Fingers crossed for an easy peasy labor! I love all these babies trying to come out!

Eh, so much for that. I had them from 2 pm yesterday until I went to bed at 9. DH came in at 3 am (he works midnights and stopped at home) to find out how I was doing, and they had stopped. Poo.

Still, I feel much better today than yesterday, and baby got his head off the left side of my pelvis where he was wedged (and causing lots of back and leg pain). So there's some good news too.

Come back, contractions!!

Awww, that sucks, but that's just your body doing what it needs to get ready! That's a GOOD thing - something to be happy about!

Here's hoping the baby makes a grand appearance soon!

Right there with you, honey! I just posted my own similar thread actually!

Hopefully these "false alarms" we're having are moving our babes into perfect positions, ripening our cervixs (cervices?), and mean that our "real" labor will be very short!!!

Well, here we go again... Maybe. I've been having lots of contractions for the past hour, more than 5 min apart, but less than 10. Also some raging, er, "bathroom incidents". Baby is so low that it's been uncomfortable to walk around today, plus he feels like he is more anterior than before.

So... Who knows. My guess is that it's probably just more "pre" labor, but maybe I'll surprise myself.

I'm off to bed, regardless. Not enough sleep last night, and my pity party day wore me out.

I hope you can get a little rest, but really I hope this is really labor and we get a baby announcement in the morning!!

Well, my "false start" for the evening just ended...here's hoping that your's continues!!!!

Come on out baby!!

Nope, no baby... I did have contractions most of the night, but they went away at around 4 or 5 am. And, like last time I had lots of contractions, baby seems to have moved. He's way more anterior than he was; his butt is almost in the center of my torso now. And I feel really refreshed and happy instead of miserable and pathetic. So I guess my "false alarm" was a good thing in at least some ways!

Maybe we'll try again tonight...

Good luck, mama! I did this a few times before it was show time! You're getting close!

Oh boy, here we go again... At least I know they're doing *something* since I lost my plug this morning. But at this rate, I'll probably need to have about another week of nightly contractions before something happens...

So today is due date #2. 9/26 was by conception date, 9/28 is by LMP. I was really hoping to have the baby today, since it's the anniversary of my aunt's death. I thought it would be nice to have something good to remember on this day, you know? Somehow, I just don't think it's gonna happen.

Last night was mostly uneventful. I stopped having contractions sometime after I went to bed, which was around 10:30. Woke up at 2 am with a HORRIBLE headache and upset stomach. I must have gone to the bathroom 5 times between 2 and 5 am. At 5 I called DH, who was working, to ask him to bring me some Tylenol. I dunno where ours went, and I hadn't seen it since April or so. After taking my drugs with 2 swallows of water, I realized that I was going to puke. Trying to make it to the bathroom in time when you can barely drag yourself out of bed is NOT fun. So... The water came back up, but I think I kept the Tylenol down. Either way, I was able to go back to sleep until hubby came to bed at about 7:45 am.

Oh, and I lost more of my mucous plug last night too. I didn't realize there would be so much! Now I'm afraid to check myself because of introducing cooties. When I checked last (maybe Thursday?) my cervix was *right there* and very soft, but I couldn't find the opening. My 40 week MW appointment is tomorrow, and I'll have my first official check to see if anything at all is happening.

Today I'm tired, my stomach is still upset, and I can feel the headache just kind of hovering there. Just kind of a "blah" day.

Hope you're feeling better or that it leads to better things (like having a baby!). I am so right there with you. . .I have had mulitple nights of being up with what I think are contrax only to have them stop. And last night I was up feeling with an upset stomach, didn't know if it was dinner or something hormonal going on?

Eesh. I haven't lost any of my plug yet though, so I have no evidence that all this nightime madness is making any progress. I have decided that this LO wants to be an October baby. . .

GOodness! Hopefully all of this is pre-labor signs for you, I've heard of women feeling "sick" and actually being in labor, so there's hope!!!

And you know, my mom swears by puking in labor...in all of her labors, she went from 6cm to completely dilated after just puking, and then had a really short pushing phase So maybe the puking helped dilate you some at least!!

Funny, today is my due date by conception (and u/s) too. My LMP due date was Friday, but I know I didn't ovulate on time (hence the reason why I am pg).

I have a lot of action happening down there, but just no REAL contractions. I have my midwife appt today (3:30). I asked them to check me I don't normally like cervical checks but I am so curious.

I feel much better now... My mom and I went swimming at the gym once my puke-y feelings went away this afternoon. If nothing else, I have some endorphins going now to help my moodiness.

And I seem to be having contractions again, lol. Or should I say "still"? Quit teasing me, body!!
