i'll like to register for some cloth diapers but haven't a clue how much i'll need or what is the most dummy-friendly kind. i'll be a first time mama and no one in my family has tried cd'ing before... so haven't even the slightest clue what the different kinds are. i'm registering thru babiesrus. i just need to know which brand is a good brand and how many i should register for.. o.. and what sizes?

Check out my web site

Not sure what you're going to find at babies r us, though. They used to carry Gerber DSQ prefolds and Especially For Baby nylon pull-on pants, which aren't fancy but would do the job. I don't know what they carry now in terms of cloth diapers, if anything.

First timer here too, but here's what I registered for after doing quite a bit of research:

30 small prefolds
30 medium prefolds
4 XS Thirsties Fab Fitted (this was just to try some fitted dipes)
1 3pk Babykicks Hemp Prefolds (smalls, just wanted to try hemp)
6 Thirsties Duo Wraps (Reviews said these were great with fitteds and some prefolds, but not so hot at night or for heavy wetters. I like the adjustability though of the snaps and the larger fit range)
2 Thirsties Diaper Covers (Reviews said these were great all around, and allowed for some bulk in the diaper if needed.)

I'm also getting some used from a friend to try out other options.

I registered on Amazon for everything.

Nicki's Diapers (online) has quite a few to choose from and you can register with them. There newborn package http://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=248 I preferred fitted cloth diapers with covers for newborns, not all in ones, because I felt the covers helped contain the poop.

I liked pockets and AIOs because they are the closest to disposable diapers. Prefolds and flats are nice because they are really inexpensive, especially compared to pockets and AIOs. I don't think there is a good selection at Babys R Us, but most cloth diaper websites have registries too. I would plan on about 8-10 diapers per day for a newborn.

This is what we bought. Look at home much they look like disposables! They even go on the same way. BRu doesn't really have much at all.

if youre looking to register somewhere thats more "recognized" you can register for bumgenius diapers through the target website. they also have some other dipes.. bumkins i think? we do covers and prefolds here, and i love them, but i do find it is a little more work as it can be hard to wrassle a pf and cover on my wiggly baby. not a huge deal though.
