button book for baby

Hi all,

My 9 mo DD really likes playing with the big buttons on one of my shirts, so I thought she would like one of those cloth books that has buttons on it, and possibly zippers, velcro, etc., that she can manipulate with her hands. But the few searches I've done for this sort of thing haven't returned what I'm looking for, probably because I don't know the proper name for this sort of thing. Can anyone tell me the name of what I'm looking for, or recommend particular books/toys that let baby play with buttons and the like?

(BTW, I did find The 10 Button Book, but I'd prefer to get a cloth book or toy so she can really chew on it. She demolishes paper books!)

Thanks very much!

I remember having a book like this when I was a child. I'd love one for my daughter as well. If you find one please post b/c I'm interested as well.

I found a few things.

I bought Button Nose cloth book by Nina Laden. This book only has one button on it, but also has a zipper, shoelace loops, a snap, and a velcro closure for the book as a whole. It's short, but really cute. My DD likes it. It's mostly black and white, so I bet newborns would like it too.

I also found this Get Dressed with Elmo cloth book that looks similar, based on what I can see on the web site.

Finally, Manhattan Toy makes a lot of dolls featuring various fasteners, like this cute pirate. There are lots of other options by the same manufacturer. Haven't seen any of them in person, though.

Hope that helps!
