So much for that...

I had pretty regular contractions last night that were...bothersome...but not painful, the kind where I kept trying to change positions but coudln't really find anything all that comfortable. I *almost* texted my doulas to put them on alert for a call in the wee hours of the morning, but then I decided not to, they all sleep with their phones anyway

Then I went to sleep and...

NOTHING! Not a single contraction all night long! I don't even think the baby moved all night! In fact, it was the best night of sleep I've had in a LONG time! Even with drinking 32 ounces int he two hours before bed, I didn't wake up to pee 20 million times! And the few times I did wake up, I was in such a deep sleep that I was really confused for a minute or two, not remembering where I was or what was going on. It was all very strange.

Then this morning I feel...GREAT! Refreshed! AND...no more pelvic pain! I did more research yesterday about stretches and positions I could try to get baby off my pelvis, did them last night (during the contractions), and now today I feel SO much better! Something finally worked, whether it was the contractions moving the baby, or the exercises moving the baby, or maybe a combo, but either way, I feel better!

Baby hasn't woken up yet this morning, but I'm having some caffeine right now, so I expect him to be active soon. And I need to pee soon, so I'll get up and walk to the bathroom and we'll see if my pelvic pain stays gone.

I also had a false alarm yesterday with lost mucus plug and some contractions - so excited to think it was happening! I am also not getting up so often to pee at night - wonder why? Hope you meet your baby soon and the pain stays away!

In my case, I'm wondering if all the extra fluid my body was craving yesterday went to increasing my amniotic fluid level to help move the baby. I just got up from my desk and walked to the bathroom, and the pelvic pain is still gone!!!! I'm sore, but DEFINITELY not the pain I had been feeling.

Baby finally woke up, he's sluggish this morning again, just kind of rolling a bit in there. He seems to have enjoyed his good night of sleep, too!

Still no mucous plug here...but with my second I didn't lose it until just before transition. With my first I lost it a few days before labor.

I'm really hungry again today!!

Wow, I think we're labor twins or something... I had exactly the same experience. Yesterday I had lots of pain and discomfort in my back, hips, and legs, plus contractions every 10 minutes for 8 hrs... Today I feel great, got lots of sleep, and baby moved off whatever nerve or bone he was jammed against.

How weird is that?!

ETA: no plug loss here, either...

Awww, dang. But those contractions are important work for your body to do, so it sounds like things are going perfectly to get ready.

And yay for the pelvic pain being gone! It sounds like you are moving closer to birth!!

I had a similar experience a couple days before I went into labor this time. I was sure something was starting up, but then it petered out and was totally GONE.

I got some sleep and finally went into labor a day or so later.

I just posted a similar post - I had been feeling awful, lots of contractions, etc. all weekend and then I woke up yesterday morning feeling terrific! Back pain gone, very few contractions, actually feel like I got some sleep. Very strange...
