How to get mold out of diapers?

Thread Starter
My twins were recently in the hospital and I just got around to washing the diapers. Some of them have moldy spots even after washing.

Does anyone know how to get it out?
Can it be washed out?
Should I soak them?
Will the sun bleach it out?
Would you use them if they had moldy spots?

TIA for any advice. I have 6 inserts in this condition.

I've had this happen with prefolds in a wetbag that were forgotten for a few days.

I used a few tablespoons of bleach in the load I washed them in. While the mold stain may not get completely out, the mold itself was killed, making them safe to use.

I had it happen to some prefolds (that were only used as burp cloths) that sat around too long before they got washed. Unfortunately I never could get the stains out. I washed several times, added a little bleach to the wash and even tried a long oxyclean soak, which usually gets rid of tough stains for me. All the oxyclean did was lighten the natural color of my unbleached prefolds but I figured after all that (and several trips through a HOT dryer) the mold was killed.
