Have you gotten betas done?

I went to my OB's office today (they wanted to do an ultrasound because I have a history of ectopics) and had a blood draw. I get the results in the morning and I'm anxious. Are the rest of you getting betas done?

while you wait!

I'm not getting a beta because I don't have an OB and my MW and DO don't do them. Also, I'm fairly low risk and I think my DH would try to talk me out of it (wouldn't be hard to do - I have teensy veins and HATE getting blood taken!)

Hi! I had my betas done yesterday morning and got the results back today. My HCG is 1,080 and my Progesterone is 37.7

My OB said these are good numbers, especially the progesterone. I've had two previous losses so any little bit of good news is reassuring.

Sending you good vibes for happy news in the morning!

Please don't worry too much about your numbers... I know that's far easier said than done but I do know that the actual number isn't anywhere near as important as how much it doubles over the next few days. From all my online research women with very high and very low numbers can and do go on to have healthy pregnancies.

Like you, I've had losses in the past so I understand your concern but please try and stay hopeful!

Best wishes!!!

It's still really early, Aja.

Are you taking progesterone? Do you have an idea of what caused your previous losses?

22 is fine. I see results everyday at work and 22 is fine as long as it doubles in 48 hours.

I just did mine today at 11dpo and it came out at 25.

I agree, as long as it doubles!

My 11 dpo beta was 31 and 13 dpo beta was 98. I go in every 48 hours until it reaches 2,000 (this is to prove pregnancy for my surrogacy).

Nope, no hcg levels done. I haven't even called my doc yet to get a referral to go to the OBGYN. Maybe next week! They didn't do them with DS though, so they probably wont this time around either.

Morning mamas, Congratulations on your pregnancies!!!

here is a wonderful site to cross reference beta numbers. All the pregnancies on this site had detected heart rates before they were published on the site.

I haven't called my Dr.'s office yet- I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

I don't really want to bother with my HCG numbers because I can't control them either way...I'd rather just let my body naturally follow the course of pregnancy.

I had a beta done today because fear of ectopic and it was 118 and was 16 on thursday. I have no idea when I conceived so not sure if these are good I have to go once a week till they reach 2000

Kbcain, I think you have the right idea...I had my beta drawn on Monday and it was only 41 at 14dpo. The nurse was sure not to worry me and said it's only the baseline and we'll see how it comes out tomorrow before we worry. But I can't help but worry - 41 seems so low compared to others.

Oh well, only 1 day left before I find something else out. Good luck to all of us!

Due to two previous losses, my betas are monitored. On 11 dpo it was 36 and on 13dpo it was 50. Yikes! I was completely freaking out. My doctor thought it was fine since it was so early, but I was on pins and needles until yesterday's results came back: 161 on 16 dpo. My betas are now doubling every 40 hours, whew!!! No more betas for me. They stress me out. I have an ultrasound scheduled for October 16. I'm praying for a heartbeat!

My hgc was 6 at 8dpo, 28 at 10dpo, and 478 at 16 dpo.

Question about my progesterone level. Doc said it was 14 at 16 dpo. Is that kinda low? Will it rise? Doc didn't seem concerned. I have been using small doses of nat prog. cream and forgot to put it on the night before they took my blood at 5am (I'm in the hospital w/back injury). Any opinions? This is my first pregnancy.

I think that (if I were you) I keep up the natural progesterone until you see or hear the heart beat. My doctor said once they see a good strong baby on ultra sound they no longer worry about progesterone. All that being said, if you were on fertility treatments they might want you to continue until your closer to 12 weeks.

Despite 4 previous losses, no betas for me. I hate having to go in to the docs at the best of times and when i am morning sick and shattered is not the best of times! In the UK there is really very little routine care during the early first tri, if you have bleeding, or pain, or repeated losses you can sometimes get an early scan to see what's happening, but generally they do very little until you hit 11 or 12 weeks. I am much happier not to have everything checked and measured and tested, it's not like measuring the beta's can alter my outcomes anyway, and i figure if i don't know for weeks i'm going to miscarry (i wouldn't have a D&C unless i was bleeding to death or something) at least i get to enjoy my few weeks of pregnancy.

Well, I'm just a "beta dork". I didn't know anything about them. My drs have never offered to test, even when I was terrified that something was wrong with DS early on.

I'm almost 6 weeks and don't have an OB appointment yet. I'm really anxious but trying not to let it get to me. I'm trying to keep the "if it is God's will . . " outlook so I would rather not know. I'm too much of a controller and would want to do something.

I am calling my OB and demanding them today. My numbers were low last time and I was put on progesterone right away...

I have had 3 losses also, so... they tend to do what I ask.
