Fleece liners for rash cream?

My 5 month old DD has a red bottom. I have no idea why. I've read of people using fleece liners in the dipes so as not to get stains from the rash cream. I love Butt Paste, but all my BG's have stains from it, and I'd rather not do that to my new premium prefolds that we will use forever.
What kind of fleece? I have some polar fleece I got from Hobby Lobby, like what you'd make a blanket out of. Can I just cut this up? Or could I just cut up some flannel to stay away from synthetics? Would that work, too?
Thanks.

I like microfleece the best, but polar fleece will work fine. I've cut some of those.

If you are looking for stay dry, you'll need the fleece. If you just want to protect your dipes, flannel will work just fine. But you'd have to finish the edges off so it doesn't unravel. Fleece has the advantage of cut-and-go! People have varying thoughts on synthetics. That's totally up to you.

What kind of dipes to you have? The irritation could be coming from the dipes themselves. Maybe you need to strip them?

Some babies are sensitive to wetness (so a synthetic liner could help) and some babies are sensitive to synthetics, in which case you'd only want natural fibers.

hth!

Any fleece should work. I would try stripping the diapers to make sure it's not that. We've also recently discovered Grandma El's diaper rash cream. It's a little more expensive, but it's amazing and can be used without a liner.

I have to second the PP with Grandma El's.
We had bad diaper rash with DD was 3 or 4 wks okd, I started using Grandma El's on her and it was gone within 48 hours.
I now use fleece liners to help keep her dry and Grandma El's before bed.

If you already have a rash situation you may not want to consider introducing a synthetic into the mix.

Try some cheap flannel cut into liners. You can throw it away in due time with little investment. It will create the barrier you want yet it will still offer a non synthetic and natural environment up against the already delicate skin.

Just a thought.
