Really weird sensation

Okay, a bit TMI, but I'd love to hear your opinion on this. . .

So yesterday and today I keep feeling throughout the day, ummm, rectal pressure. . .i.e. I think I need to use the bathroom, but when I get there I don't. And this isn't in lieu of having any action on the bathroom. In fact, I have been having 2-3 BMs a day the past couple days (sorry, sorry TMI), but this is addtionally feeling like I need to go.

What I am wondering is if this means the baby has engaged and I am just feeling more pressure. . .his head? Or do you not feel rectal pressure until you are in labor and the baby is decending into the birth canal? As of last Friday my LO was still "floating" so I wonder if that has changed.

Its just weird, cuz normally I don't feel the need to go unless its gonna happen!

the onlt time i felt rectal pressure was n the push that got his head out. at the very end of childbirth. don't know what you have, but i had tons of BMs the day before i delivered (ie, in early labor).

Maybe I'm starting to gear up for labor? Hopefully. . .

I don't think its just gas bubbles I am feeling. Weird. Just too much pressure and extra stuff (like a baby!) in that general area to figure out what's what!

Sounds like maybe baby has just dropped?

I don't remember having that with my first, but this time I have that rectal pressure often when I am on the toilet. Sometimes I have a BM and sometimes not, but it certainly does feel like I need to have one. So I kwym. But this baby is way lower than my first ever was before labor. And I am certainly NOT in labor right now, not feeling any real contractions and cervix still closed as of yesterday.

Yep, it's been like this for me for a week or so. I feel like I have to poop, but I either don't, or it's a very small amount and I'm not "satisfied" That'll last for a day or two, then I"ll have a day where I have loose stools all day.

I'm assuming it's baby's position. He's not fully engaged yet, but he wouldn't have to be to be putting pressure on your colon. Even just tilting his chin up or down could change where the pressure is felt, and could mimic the sensation of needing to poop

I was seriously considering a light laxative to get things cleared out since I keep feeling like I can't quite get it all out, but then I wonder if there's really anything to get out or if it's just my body messing with me!!
