Fake honey!!!

Eww! I was in the dollar store the other day, and they had a product called "honey syrup" that was HFCS with a little bit of honey and artificial coloring to make it look like honey. And the worst part - it was packaged in a plastic bear, JUST like real honey. I just thought this was pretty sick. I mean, not like you would expect anything nutritious at the dollar store and I sure don't buy any food products there, but this outright deception seemed to cross a line.

That is pretty gross. I do buy crackers there though - no point in paying $4 for a box of triscuits or ritz when I can get them for $1.65 and $1.35 respectively!!

that is so gross and so wrong but considering the other 'food stuffs' they stock, ie the mountains of hfcs laden pop, candy, cereals etc not wholly stunning. haven't seen it at the two we use but it's probably there somewhere

Ewww! My friend just dropped off a few jars of her honey and it is sooooo good - I would rather go without than use the fake stuff.

The sadder thing is that some people will read the fine print, realize it's not "real honey" but not care, or think there's any significant difference between the two. HFCS is all natural, right?

Yep those honey packets. I've never seen the kfc ones, but when I get tea out somewhere the packets offered are usually the fakey "honey" ones.
How sad. Is the fakey stuff that much cheaper than the real thing?
