ME AF sizing?

Has anyone tried the range of Motherease Airflow covers?

my dd was born at 42w weighing 7lb3oz. The growing LO is on a similar path and I know I won't be allowed to go to 42 again, so I'm going to assume another low 7lb-er.

both xs and s claim to fit 6-12lbs with m covering 10-20lbs.

I've read that s is large on newborns. I'm wondering if I can go from xs to m and skip the s. I'll be using GMD newborn prefolds.

I can update a little more when my XS AF arrives but. My understanding is the XS will have a shorter rise and such and are designed to go over actual NB diapers I'll have kssaluv 0 or pinned prefolds under mine. The smalls have a larger rise.. If it helps any this is the MEOS and a small cover on an 18 inch doll of my DD.

love the pictures. I just got my GMD prefolds yesterday. My dd and I sat down with her teddybears and pinned diapers on all of them!

I was hoping the rise issue will be doable. Especially since the xs goes to 12lb and the m starts at 10lb. I also plan on trying blueberry snappy wrap that goes from 7-15lb and I have a whisperwrap pull-on that should also cover the inbetween of a larger newborn.

have you considered a thirsties DUO wrap? size one is listed as fitting from 6-18lbs and offers an adjustable rise. I have one I can snap it down and it fits nicely over my GMD newborn prefolds or my kissaluv 0 and unsnapped over like the MEOS.

I'm trying to stay away from velcro. It rubbed my dd something awful.

I understand. What about plain pull on covers like the Dappi or Bummi whisper pants. I SOOO wish cloth-ez was still making there side snapping nylon covers I LOVED those.

oh, yes. I too loved those side snap covers. I had them with dd, bought from WeeBees, but even that company isn't in business. Funny, moms of only little ones haven't a clue about them. I can't understand why they aren't made any more.

I just bought a whisper pull-on. I've read it runs large, but doesn't seem too bad. I plan on getting the blueberry snappy wrap (similar in design to ME AF but range is 7-15lbs). I'm not a big fan of front snap of some of the other diaper covers. I can't get the legs snug enough and the diaper tends to poke out. Plus, I want a wipe clean PUL-ish interior.

I did post on the ME board and was told that rise on the sm AF is made large enough to cover the OS diaper where is xs isn't. Since I don't plan on using the OS diaper, I'm hoping the xs will last long enough to get us to m. I wasn't a fan of the OS. Like most other OS, where you flip the snaps down, it tended to "roll out" making the rise too long and gaping at the legs. If only it would be made like the blueberry OS cover, where there are seperate snaps for the waist and rise.

As for diapers, I plan on mainly using prefolds with a handful of ME sandy's.

The x-small is really only designed for newborn or xsmall Sandy diapers. I wouldn't bank on that as an option. I would probably go with small first especially if you have larger babies. I think you won't get enough use out of an xsmall.

Good luck on the new baby

Yes, I think you could safely go from the largest setting on xs straight to the smallest setting on med.

We skipped the small size on the MEAF's and also the M/L size.

We wore XS, M, L,XL worked on both kiddos. One born at 7lbs and one at 9lbs. I hope that helps
