Can I just vent a little? lol

I have been taking the mini-pill since 6 week checkup and We decided that it just wasnt right for us and we want to try natural family planning instead. I decided to stop taking it two days ago.

I woke up this morning to light bleeding!!! I am guessing this is a period? Really irks me as I BF 24/7 and I just started pumping also to build up a freezer supply. Will this go away since I stoped taking the mini-pill?

Also I have a abcessed tooth and Began anitbiotics yesterday and had a dentist checkup. I now am getting my wisdom teeth out on tuesday so I am trying to pump as much as I can to get a good freezer stash so I wont have to FF him for the 24 hrs that I have to pump and dump. I know I can build up a good stash because that is a week away.

It just upsets me that I have a period agian already. Hopefully its just from stopping the BC. Could I just bleed without it being a period from the BC??

Sorry I just never have used BC pills ever until this time and dont know much about them hench why we are going to go back to natural since I cant really stand them lol

I've never taken the pill pp, but I've heard that it can cause bleeding without ovulation. Hopefully it will go away.

It is probably from stopping the pill. Back when I used to take it I would always bleed if I stopped abruptly. BTW, you do know that antiobiotics make the pill way less effective, right? My sister has a baby to prove it! Turns out her doctor never shared that bit of info with her.

lol nope didnt know that. The bleeding is really light almost like spotting.

Its just enough to wipe when I pee and never gets on my undies thank goodness. Hopefully it will go away.

it's from stopping the pill. Have you ever heard of people taking progesterone to bring on a late period (you see this a lot on the TTC board, usually people take provera)? What happens is when the progesterone is stopped abruptly your body is cued to shed the uterine lining. It doesn't necessarily mean you're going to ovulate any time soon. But be on the look out for fertile mucous just in case

Good. Because I was really looking to going longer then 6 mos without a period this time around.

With Ds1 We went on a family vacation at 6 months and from traveling and Ds not nursing as often because he was sleeping in the car ride my period came back... Thats all I could figure?

They can use medication that you dont need to pump and dump. The same med they use to do GA on a c section mama they can use for you. There are many pain meds as well that are safe.

So if you dont feel like pumping and dumping then dont.

ok good. I know I will have a good supply by then but I just love the nursing part and I know he will miss snuggling with momma and nursing also!

If you call and find out the type of med they use then post in dental or even health and healing someone can drag out their copy of Dr. Hales and let you know for sure how safe it is and if not then give you alternatives you can request they use.
