Raw Honey

I'm considering purchasing some raw honey. I have heard that it has beneficial bacteria, and is considered by some to be a probiotic. Does anyone have any more information? Is the "raw" honey purchased at a local grocery store even "raw"?
thanks

I always assumed that raw honey from the store is raw, that's what I get.

I don't think it has beneficial bacteria, I think it has enzymes. And pasturized honey would be really bad because some healing systems (Ayurveda I think) suggust that heated honey actually contains toxins.

MOST grocery stores do not have local honey and it will not be as much help for local allergies- reason so many people want local honey, you should look into buying local honey (from your area and speak to the local bee keeper, they may even have pollen- super good for you)- lots of honey sold in stores is from China. Best to know where it is from and a bee keeper is usually very helpful.

^ HFS usually have labels saying where the honey is made, and if it is local.
