What to worry about with adults getting the Hep B vaccine or the flu vaccine

I have a 3 month old unvaxed infant, but I will most likely have to get my hep b vaccine and my dh must get the flu mist (although i am probably requesting he get the shot). I remember there being something I needed to be cautious about, but honestly I can't remember.

And before anyone says don't get the vaccine, it isn't an option, it is a must or I wont be able to do daycare. I don't want to hear about all the ways around it, there isn't, I have to go before a board to be selected to do the childcare and if I don't have the vaccine, they will just deny my package and go with someone else, so again, just not an option. I have already had one shot, they are running a titer first, but I doubt I have the immunity from the single vaccine I got years ago.

Are you asking about the risks to your child if you and DH get the shots?

As long as he doesn't get the mist there are no risks to your child. If he got the mist, this is live and could shed so avoid the mist.

I probably shouldn't post to this thread. I'm not sure why as a childcare provider you are req'd to get this vax. Here is a federal OSHA declination form if it might help you.

I had the 3 shot Hep B series and a booster shot and I don't have any antibodies according to my last titer, but I hope maybe you will be luckier than me. Even if you don't have antibodies you should only have to take 2 more injections since you already had one.

If it were my DH, I'd have him take the flu shot instead of mist. The mist you can shed the (weakened) live flu virus for like 3 weeks. Would NOT want that around my infant, vaxed or not.

Good luck

This is what a Dr Blaylock reccomends if you get vaccinated

Treatment for Toxic Vaccine Exposure

1.Place a cold compress on the site of the injection immediately after the injection and continue this as often as possible for at least two days. If symptoms of fever, irritability, fatigue or flu-like symptoms reoccur -- continue the cold compresses until they abate. A cold shower or bath will also help.

2.Take fish oils -- I recommend the Norwegian fish oil made by Carlson Labs -- it has the correct balance of EPA and DHA to reduce the cytokine storm. The dose is one tablespoon a day -- if severe symptoms develop -- two tablespoons a day until well and then switch to one tablespoon a day. Children -- one teaspoon a day.

3.Curcumin, quercetin, ferulic acid and ellagic acid as a mixture -- the first two must be mixed with extravirgin olive in one teaspoon. Take the mix three times a day (500 mg of each)

4.Vitamin E (natural form) 400 IU a day (high in gamma-E)

5.Vitamin C 1000 mg four times a day

6.Astaxanthin 4 mg a day

7.Zinc 20 mg a day for one week then 5 mg a day

8.Avoid all immune stimulating supplements (mushroom extracts, whey protein) except beta-glucan -- it has been shown to reduce inflammation, microglial activation and has a reduced risk of aggravating autoimmunity, while increasing antiviral cellular immunity.

9.Take a multivitamin/mineral daily (one without iron -- Extend Core)

10.Magnesium citrate/malate 500 mg of elemental magnesium two capsules three times a day

11.Vitamin D3:

1.All Children -- 5000 IU a day for two weeks after vaccine then 2000 IU a day thereafter

2.Adults -- 20,000 IU a day after vaccine for two weeks then 10,000 IU a day thereafter

3.Take 500 mg to 1000 mg of calcium citrate a day for adults and 250 mg a day for children under age 12 years.

12.Avoid all mercury-containing seafood

13.Avoid omega-6 oils (corn, safflower, sunflower, soybean, canola and peanut oils)

14.Blenderize parsley and celery and drink 8 ounces twice a day

15.Take Jatoba tea extract (add 20 drops in on cup of tea) one day before the vaccine and the twice a day thereafter. (you can get it at http://www.iherb.com/Amazon-Therapeu...-ml/14429?at=0) It is inexpensive

I don't see anything in CA's childcare licensing that requires any immunizations for providers. I do see a request for tb testing though.

Oh, didn't answer one part of your question - what is there to worry about with the Hep B vaccine. This info is from an anti-vax site so you may or may not take with grains of salt & FWIW I know alot of folks who've gotten hep B shots with no problems. Like the other poster, I kinda wonder why they are pushing Hep B on you... Hep A I could understand.

•By 1999, at least 100 medical reports confirmed at least 45 side effects associated with the hepatitis B vaccine, many related to chronic crippling disabilities and permanent neurological damage. Adverse reactions include: polyneuropathy, Guillain-Barre (paralytic nerve damage), visual disturbances and blindness, vertigo, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), serum sickness, colitis, autism, herpes zoster, myesthenia gravis and rheumatoid arthritis.10

•Since 1987, there have been at least 38 reports in international medical literature showing that the hepatitis B vaccine causes chronic autoimmune and neurological disease in both children and adults.11 Because it is genetically engineered, Recombivax HB can confuse the body's immune system into attacking itself resulting in an auto-immune response such as multiple sclerosis (MS).12 In 1997, while publicly defending hepatitis B vaccine, the CDC produced an internal memo suggesting a "possible association between the vaccine and multiple sclerosis."13

•In 1998, 15,000 people filed a class action lawsuit against the French government because the officially mandated hepatitis B vaccine caused thousands to develop MS-like symptoms. That year, France ended compulsory hepatitis B vaccinations.14

•In 1998, data linking the vaccine to auto-immune diseases, including lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, was released at the 62nd annual meeting of the American College of Rheumatology.15 That same year, a study by Dr. John Classen, an immunologist at Classen Immunotherapies, published a paper linking hepatitis B vaccine with the development of insulin dependent diabetes in certain children. 16 Diabetes is considered an auto-immune disease.

I wish it were as easy as a CA thing, it is a Navy CDH requirement that I have already talked personally to the base CO about. Not going to change, and even if I wanted to fight the issue, which I can't, but even if I tried, 1. I couldn't win because I have already started the series previously and 2. They aren't required to give me the licensing on base if I don't meet their exact requirements. It is stupid and ridiculous, but it is a rule and we don't have the time, energy or ability to fight it and it is most likely an unwinable fight anyway.

But thanks for the info. I will make sure DH gets the shot (military, he has no choice about getting, but can request the shot over the mist).

And yes, my question was about the risks to the baby, not my husband or myself.
