breastfeeding compatible cold meds?

I have a horrible cold, can't breathe and my nose is hurting from all the pressure! I had been taking Benadryl, but it seems to be drying my milk up.. as well making the pressure on my nose worse.....

What can I take that won't affect my milk supply and will help clear my nose up a little without just drying everything up?

TIA!

I use real sudafed (you have to get it from the pharmacist) not sudafed PE. It doesn't have an effect on my milk production, but I have a tendency towards oversupply issues. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks! I usually have oversupply too.. but DS seems to be coming down with whatever I have too and is wanting to nurse EXTRA and is biting me because there doesn't seem to be enough milk coming out!

I would be careful with Sudafed. I am an RN, and at the OB office I used to work at, we would recommend it to moms who wanted to dry their milk up. You can take it, but I would take it less than the package prescribes. Be careful with Zyrtec as well. I have had good results personnally with taking generic claritin for a few days, not for an extended period. Just be mindful of your baby, and remember that rest and fluids are your friends.
