Okay, so we all know that castor oil, walking, evening primrose orally or inserted vag, stripping membranes, RRL tea, blue and black cohosh herbs, cauphyllum/cimicifuga homeopathic, doing the deed, eggplant parm, cumin tea, and pineapple are touted as labor starters.

What did it for you ladies? Anything special in the 24hrs before labor started???...let all of us who are still knocked-up know your secrets LOL!

I'm ordering eggplant parm from olive garden tonight btw

Much Love,

My midwives ditching me at 3 PM Friday, 38 weeks 2 days, over something that HADN'T CHANGED all pregnancy (position of baby B and placenta - both of which I had been repeatedly assured BY THEM was fine).

Bitter? no.

I've got nothing.

Just wanted to say congrats on your twins! I was looking for an update on you yesterday after seeing your belly pic! I'm so glad you had a great birth after getting ditched. I hope you were able to tell the midwives ALL about how terrific it was!

I had an awesome birth. I need to finish writing up the story and I'll get it here ASAP.

Nothing's working here And I don't remember anything in particular from my last two births, either.

Not helpful.

Had my membranes stripped and was in labor about 24 hours later. That was at almost 43 weeks though so I was definitely ready.

i jogged on uneven ground to keep up w/ my daughter riding on a little "train" at labor day picnic. that did it, then and there. i was 38 w 4 d. birthed the baby about 35 hours later.

hmmm - could be a number of things....gave birth tuesday morning....

*prospect of induction the following day?
*vaginal exam monday afternoon.
*laughing hysterically monday night about NOT *ahem* DRINKING the protogandtins(sp)? I mean, I LAUGHED so hard I cried repeatedly.

In prior births, I'd say the common denominator is the vag exam, personally.....

So curious on the details of this. Glad you had a great birth though.

As for the OP, I swear with my last pg acupuncture really helped me. But this pg it has actually calmed any BH/prelabor contractions.

I did buy pineapple last night and ate a pizza LOADED with oregano. Baby is still in belly.

Eggplant actually stopped my contractions last night! I took epo and nada all night. Usually I contract every 15-20 min all night....too weird.

no one wants to hear this but:

with DS i tried it ALL and NOTHING worked! everything on your list except for cohosh and epo. i ate so much eggplant...........oy.

SIL did that too and it made her throw up! I even read that basil and oregano have labor inducing properties but that eggplant had none! so think hard about that before you eat it...unless you just like eggplant?

I have to agree as I am facing the induction tomorrow, had vag exam on Tuesday but still waiting on baby-not much longer, I hope as we are loosing the plug right now! Yay!

had my membranes stripped and then DTD with DH. That has worked for me 3 times now .

The full moon... I blame it for my water breaking before the rest of my body was ready.... midwife went ahead and agreed with me

My midwife swears that when this weather clears (we are stuck in a rainy cold pattern - which is a nice change from sunny and 105!), it will send me into labor (pressure change, I guess). We'll see if she's right! That should happen sometime tomorrow or Saturday...

Aside from that, no similarities between the other three kids.

I had an internal on Wednesday and was told no progress and got scheduled for an induction for next Friday. I was pretty disappointed so I ran errands all day. DH and I DTD and contractions started a few hours later. I also walked when the contractions slowed a little and had my son late Thursday night. I think my DH has magic sperm though.

I ate basil chicken with a side of very basil-y marinara sauce and noodles for dinner and went into labor three hours later!
