would you consider a (sub)forum for adverse diagnosis during pregnancy?

I'm not sure what you would call it, but it seems to be a topic that has no one good home here...I've been able to find threads, some in "I'm pregnant" some in DDCs and even some in the loss forums, but I'm not sure where to post.

There is such a range of things to talk about once you get a prenatal diagnosis, and it is so hard to find support, especially for the more rare things. I feel like I want to talk to the loss mamas because some of them were in my place at one point, knowing there was something wrong but not knowing what the outcome would be...but I also feel like that's the wrong place to go because, well, my baby is still alive at the moment, even if my docs don't think he'll make it...

there's also the topic of choosing to carry to term despite a negative diagnosis, or the decision to terminate. I don't know if that's something we can even discuss here without getting into gray areas with abortion and stuff.

also it might provide an opportunity for moms with similar diagnoses to find each other and support each other through pregnancy and beyond.

Just curious if this has been proposed before and what your thoughts are, thank you for your consideration..

I am so sorry.

We do have "High Risk" pregnancy on the list of suggested subforums and that will be considered carefully. Would that be adequate or do you mean a forum in addition to a high risk one?

It is unbelievably difficult to get such a diagnoses. It is a lonely feeling, particularly among the natural community.

Do please feel free to start threads where you feel you will get the information or support you might need.

thank you for your response, I do think "high risk" would cover the topics as well as clearly make a space for such topics to be posted.

it's such a weird place to be, and it is temporary, I suppose at some point you're going to potentially end up in either the NICU forum, special needs forum or the loss forum, but the time while you are still pregnant and dealing with the questions and all the appointments is so hard and it would be nice to connect with MDC people who've been there or are going through it too...

thanks again!
