Waterbirth Pool Issue...Help!

I am 39 weeks along today and I discovered yesterday that the kiddie pool I ordered for my homebirth does not have an inflatable bottom. I'm wondering if I should just use it and put cushioning underneath it, or if I should try to rush and order another one. Will this one work well enough? I have called around and noone is selling them in the local stores.

Thanks!

I'd just put a couple layers of blankets under it.

I had the inflatable bottom kind, and it was pretty nice. But if you've already paid for one, I agree--just put some blankets or foam pads underneath the pool, and/or some folded towels or something in the pool itself (though they may get irritating if they won't stay put).

I didn't inflate the bottom of ours because I didn't want to take away from water space. We had several layers of quilts on the carpet with a thin plastic painters sheet on top underneath the pool. It worked very well.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. Putting it on some blankets or a foam pad is a great idea if you want some cushion.

Huh. The birth pool I had didn't have an inflatable bottom and I didn't even realize I was missing out! LOL.

Thanks everyone. This makes me feel better. I guess we'll just put some cushioning underneath.

The inflatable bottom on our birth pool had a hole in it and leaked air when water was put in it. I didn't notice at all when I was in labor what the condition of the floor was.
