Demitri knows his days are numbered and Janis knows she's got to get pregnant in a few weeks. She didn't have any baby daddy at the u/s so she may have asked her friend and co-worker to be a donor.

Joining everyone over here! Just watched it this weekend (second episode on Friday, and then I had to watch the first one on hulu).

I love it! The characters, the puzzle, the pace - everything! Someone mentioned the book, what is it called and who wrote it again?

By the way, the pregnant lady does not seem happy about it at all. I wonder if she'll survive an attack, and that's why the tears when she watched the ultrasound?

I feel really sad for the family, it doesn't seem like there is any way it will survive the 6 months. I wonder if the writers can pull it off and make it sound believable.

The time differences were due to different continents - what's 10pm over here was 5am in Great Britain.

I'm REALLY curious what the little girl saw, and what did she mean by "no more good days".

Great series...

No. The cupcake lady had her flashforward in broad daylight in Anaheim. I doubt Janis would travel to a different country for her ultrasound.

So, do we take that as a slip up....or, should we not trust her/her flashforward?

I think it was a slip up.

Maybe he did it to break up with his finacee so she wouldn't be a widow before the wedding. (no idea when the wedding was scheduled) Figured he'd help out a friend in the process.

Any thoughts on this episode? I guess we are waiting for the west coast to watch it.
so duh, demetri just needs to start wearing a bulletproof vest on the day of his "murder" and play dead. seems simple enough.

jk.

okay just started watching- back to discuss later!

ohhhhhhhhh.

a group of crows is called a murder!

good one flashforward!

I missed the first half.

That's okay though, I'll catch up over the weekend on hulu...
It didn't seem as exciting as the first two, but I did like the "it happened before" kind-a twist.

So who else thinks that Demetriy's fiance was dreaming during the flash forward? The white dress, her walking on the beach, seemed too much as she flash forwarded into her own dream.

this.
because also if you think about it- the visions took place at 10pm. her vision was clearly during the day. unless they were planning on getting married somewhere across the globe- which they made no mention of- it doesnt make sense that it was daylight.

i speculate some people who were asleep at the time of their flash forwards (during the visions, not actually during the 137 seconds- remember it was supposed to be 10pm, lots of people are sleeping at 10pm) had their dreams shown to them. i think that explains why that man (forgot his name) saw his dead daughter, even though she is dead.

thoughts?

also, why did all the school children have dreams, wouldnt they be sleeping at 10pm? are they just seeing their dreams? could that be why no kids but charlie (who must have been awake) are freaking out over them?

I really, really want to like this show but the inconsistencies are getting to me.

WHY is the old guy the only one that noticed dead crows on the ground???

When they looked it up the crow population plummeted the day of the black out so why didn't anybody else notice there were thousands if not millions of dead crows on the ground all over the world???

I can see the whole dream during the black out thing that makes sense but the time issues are still bugging me. Who gets a U/S at that time of night? Why was it so dark at Mark's house when his wife saw the other dude and yet bright as day at the cupcake ladies store???

If it happened at night why was the FBI guy in a bathroom stall reading the paper? Why wasn't he at home and if he was still at work why didn't he see/hear some of the bad guys Mark saw???

The people did not black out at 10pm, at least not in LA where this is mainly happening. They blacked out at 11am that day, broad daylight so it makes sense that the kids weren't asleep unless they were taking naps. Demetri and his fiancee are getting married in Hawaii, they're 3 hours behind CA or Pacific Time. So 10pm in LA is 7pm in Hawaii.

At first I thought the cupcake lady's flashforward was during the day too and it was really bugging me. But the more I think about it, the less convinced I am that it was during the day. As far as I can remember, we didn't see any windows. Yes, it was very bright inside of the store where she was but it's a bakery, of course it would be very well lit, likely with lights to simulate daylight such as halogen or newer fluorescent lights. The better lit the cupcakes are, the more appetizing they will look and the more you will sell IMO.

As far as the ultrasound, that does still bug me. I suppose there might be an ultrasound place who is open that late at night in a city as large as LA but I think it's quite a stretch.

Yes, last night's episode did move slower than the first two did but that's to be expected I feel. Not every episode is going to have a bunch of action, there needs to be some where they spend most of the time "laying tracks" or filling in the question marks that the previous episodes left and laying the groundwork for what is to come. I think this helps make it feel more real, not every day after a disaster is going to be filled with bangs and booms and action, there needs to be time to think and plan.

I'm thinking because of Demetri's murder, she is in hiding and is in another timezone -- possibly another country when she has the u/s done.

I agree with the cupcake shop being well-lit.

I think Demetri's fiance said that it was a beach in Hawaii -- and it would probably still be bright out like that at 7p.m.

If it's 11AM why is it dark/night when Mark's wife is calling the new dude honey and he is sitting in the dark and if I remember correctly the fire is burning? And a baseball game at 11am? About once a year they have a lunch time game but not nearly that heavily attended as most people are working. Why was it so dark and nobody there in Mark's office when the bad guys came with their red lazer guns?
It's 11am (in Los Angeles) when the blackout occurs or when everyone passes out. I've seen plenty of baseball games that are well attended in the afternoons (remember, Detroit will be at 2pm), especially in the outfield/bleacher sections (since those tend to be cheaper seats) which is where the camera was focused. And day games happen far more often than once a year Detroit has 6 of them scheduled for the beginning of the 2010 season already. The visions appear to be set at night, 10pm in LA which is 6am the following day in London when one of the flash forwards happen.

Oh, OK. See.... I got confused. So the black out is during the day but the 'vision' is at night. I should have kept the first show on DVR so I could watch it again and pay better attention
