Flash Forward - Page 4

Yeah, it's the kind of show where it's going to take a bit to get it all straight. It also looks like the kind of show that you can go back and re-watch and catch things that you missed the first time or key into the forshadowing that is happening. I know ABC has the episodes on their site and it's on Hulu too if anyone wants to re-watch online.

no, i know that-
what i meant was that the VISIONS took place LA time 10pm. not the time they blacked out.

so why were the school children seeing what they'd be doing in the future. at 10pm they would be asleep. thats why i figured they could be seeing dreams. since it appeared all the kids had visions too.

Demetri and his fiancee are getting married in Hawaii, they're 3 hours behind CA or Pacific Time. So 10pm in LA is 7pm in Hawaii.

At first I thought the cupcake lady's flashforward was during the day too and it was really bugging me. But the more I think about it, the less convinced I am that it was during the day. As far as I can remember, we didn't see any windows. Yes, it was very bright inside of the store where she was but it's a bakery, of course it would be very well lit, likely with lights to simulate daylight such as halogen or newer fluorescent lights. The better lit the cupcakes are, the more appetizing they will look and the more you will sell IMO.

As far as the ultrasound, that does still bug me. I suppose there might be an ultrasound place who is open that late at night in a city as large as LA but I think it's quite a stretch.

Yes, last night's episode did move slower than the first two did but that's to be expected I feel. Not every episode is going to have a bunch of action, there needs to be some where they spend most of the time "laying tracks" or filling in the question marks that the previous episodes left and laying the groundwork for what is to come. I think this helps make it feel more real, not every day after a disaster is going to be filled with bangs and booms and action, there needs to be time to think and plan.

No-no, what we mean is this: Everyone in LA flash forwarded into 10pm at night, but at 10pm usually kids are asleep, so the visions that they saw could have been their dreams, not reality. But not just the kids! Adults could be asleep at that time too, they could be dreaming too and that could explain why there are time inconsistencies. Who is to say that the Ultrasound flash forward was not her dream?

I wonder about the crows too. How come other people didn't see it? I guess there could be a lot of explanations...is there a large population of crows in LA for example? Perhaps people didn't put 2 and 2 together, but yeah, it's weird that the nazi guy is the only one who paid attention to the crows.
Ahh yes, that makes sense. You're right, a majority of kids would probably be asleep at that time.

I haven't watched this weeks episode yet so I skipped reading the last couple of pages.

The kangaroo- I just assumed a zoo keeper blacked out with the cage door open.

Like, why would this one 3-person or whatever team of average FBI agents be asked to figure out this huge, global phenomenon. Shouldn't there be a huge international team of scientists working on it?
I think thats kind of realistic actually. Its not like irl they are all that organised, lol.

I bet someone's already said that tho, I havent read the entire thread...

Just a quick question... Well, a ramble of sorts. Is it absolutely certain that the ff's are all at the very same time in the future? ykwim? What if there are tiny time differences.

Im trying to patch it all together now. The cupcake lady's vision took place in what seems like daytime... If she's dealing with a debt collector?? why would they be hassling her in the middle of the night? I might be very confused on that one... Im in the uk and we watch the show on monday evenings my time (we're five hours ahead of people on the east coast of usa).

The ultrasound fbi girl, yeah, why would she be having an ultrasound at night? Like, at the same time whatshername's vision, wifey of dude guy... Its early... whats her name?? Marks wife...

This is for me, sorry for 'thinking out loud' here. I think none of this is a mistake on the producers part. I think it will all hash out... Or it better, else its a crap show!

The acting, Im somewhat disappointed too. Joseph Fienes is usually a better actor, or I rated him such. But in this show, I cringe a little bit, only at times tho. Saying that, I can actually believe the tension rising between him and his wife. He's acting like a recovered/struggling alcoholic and is behaving like one who desperately doesnt want his vision to happen, but will inadvertantly MAKE it happen. I think he should be honest with his wife and that it would be HER who helps him to then prevent herself from doing what her vision said she would do.

Also, the pregnancy spoiler up there, I already thought that too. I like the show. I didnt like Jericho tho. I found it tedious. A VERY good idea for a show tho, I love fantacising about apacolyptic scenerios, for some strange reason. I didnt think it panned out tho. There was another show in the UK along the very same lines called Survivors, which I liked but its not been on again in a while.

Im going to have to watch the first two episodes again ondemand when the kids are in bed. To get any details I missed. Has there been two or three episodes?

Edited to add, that sometimes, Ive found, when movie actors move to tv, has anyone else noticed that sometimes they dont make the transition very well? The acting style, technique must be different.

So do we think Mark's sponsor dude with the beard was dreaming about his daughter being alive in the military since they confirmed it is her in the grave?
Which I have to say annoyed me a bit because those kinds of tests take weeks if not months from what I understand and he seemd to know the next day.
I think they want you to believe that it was a dream of some kind but I'm not convinced. I'm not positive that the military has the right DNA on file.

Yes this.
I think it is either not the right DNA on file or he said they only got part of her body back and it was unrecognizable, what if her arm or leg was amputated and that is what they are testing but she is still alive?

Spoiler ahead if you didn't watch last night's episode!

So Simcoe is part of the evil genius that brought this flash on and Dominic (Charlie on Lost) is the other half. LOVE IT! Simcoe must have been the tall, dark character at the baseball game. This seems to be unraveling quickly unlike Lost. Not sure how much I like that yet.

Did anyone else notice the website the guy doctor (don't know his name) was on had flu vax propaganda on it when he was going to look up Addison's Disease? Love the subtleties of mainstream television.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is that he told his ff this time and he had the same ff as Olivia. Do you believe he was lying?

Oooh good point. Something else to think about!

Yeah, I don't think Mr. Simcoe was suspect Zero now that I've seen his Flash Forward, but he was involved. Anybody think Simon (Charlie) was Suspect Zero? Or D. Gibbons? I can't remember all the description of him but I remember he was male and 5'8". That's right around Dom's height.

I kind of like that they give us a cliff hanger every episode. Even if its a little cliff.

nak
OT but I finally figured out where I'd seen Lloyd Simcoe before. He was Commodore Norrington on Pirates of the Carribean.

Back to the thread.

I cant believe how many pages are here. I was never planning on watching this show, but you all have me intrigued. I am a big LOST fan and even bigger Jericho fan. I guess I have alot of catching up to do. Now to decide which one to watch on Thursdays, Survivor or Flash foward? This show can'y really be that good? Since there are several episodes in, are those who watched the first episode as happy about the show now?

Its a good show. I think if you like Lost and Jericho you'll like this one. We're only four episodes in it shouldn't be too hard to catch up. I don't have a working digital tuner so I have to watch FF on Hulu anyway. You can catch up on Hulu or ABC's site.

Anybody notice the in joke when Mark was performing with the Egg for his daughter. He used his real British accent and then Olivia came in and said something about giving up a carrer doing Shakespeare.

quite a few British actors - the ones who play Simcoe, Olivia, and & Mark.... plus the actor who plays Aaron is Irish. I thought the "Shakespeare" line was cute, too
