Meredith Grey is the most annoying character on that show. Possibly the most annoying character anywhere, ever. I constantly want to slap her face.

Last night annoyed me. I doubt Bailey would have said that to Izzy!! "You killed her". Come on!!! And Christina's crying? I love her character but I almost laughed at that scene. She sounded like a man underwater. Her voice just did something weird. And Meredith in the bed? Way to mask the pregnancy, guys! It's so obvious, it's annoying!

But, poor Alex.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Arizona! Every time she opens her mouth, she's awesome!

I thought overall last night's episode was ridiculous. The only part I liked was when Callie went off on her father - she was awesome in that scene. The rest of it, eh, I could have done without.

I loved the whole Torres/Arizona/father thing, and Alex after Izzy left was really heartwrenching - but the rest? Ugh. First, I can't believe that the board was about to fire the Chief and now they're letting him oversee a merger - what? huh? And I have a hard time with the fact that everyone from Mercy West is uniformly evil, and that they would even bring them over before they decided who they were letting go from Seattle Grace. It's just stupid.

I think they are making a big mistake with this whole merger thing... especially the 'way' they are doing it like pp said. I think they will lose viewers because of it. I really didn't care for last night's show. (and I'm a huge fan)

I LOVED the Christina thing! I love that we, every once in a great while, are reminded that she's human. To me, it's totally believable that she would break down about not getting to pursue her dream of being a cardiac surgeon. I totally believe that she would be devastated to go from learning from the best, being in on the best surgeries to having to fight for demeaning surgeries (in her eyes). Being a surgeon is her life and she's watching all hope of being a world class cardiac surgeon slip away. I love that she totally lost it for a few minutes over that.

The Mercy West thing isn't thrilling me. I too hate that they're making them all evil. It's ridiculous.

I do get why they did the merger and hopefully it will smooth out with time. But right now, I hate the constant chaos.

I agree with you on almost everything you have said here.

let's see.. I cried during the Christina scene. I can completely understand fighting for your dream and failing... esp. after you have already tasted it.. with burke.

cried during the Arizona scene. she's quickly becoming my favorite character btw. LOVE her!

Callie's interactions with her dad and Arizona really made the show last night.

HOwever, I do not hate the merger. glad to see some new faces..
but really really sad for Izzie
and Alex and Christina...

the chief is going through a lot. seems shaken and has lost some of his warmth and confidence. was blindsided that he went from being almost fired to the chief of TWO hospitals. um.. wow.

I'm wondering whats' going to happen with Izzie. Everything I've read says she'll be gone for a few episodes, but she'll be back. What's she going to do if she comes back? I mean can they unfire her?

I think I read Izzie is only out for 5/6 episodes. In real life Katherine Heigl and her husband just brought home a 10month old from Korea so that is why she is written out for a brief moment. As for how she comes back who knows?

I LOVE Arizona and Callie! The scene with her dad was great but really I am all done Alex Karev. No interest in watching him. And I love scenes with Lexie and Sloan- they are a cute pair. I would like to see more scenes out of the hospital, especially Bailey.

I have noticed that Sloan isn't around much. I hope he's not leaving because he's one of my very favorite characters. I love how they've matured him. I think they could do great things with him.

Katherine Heigel is only gone for 5 - 6 episodes. She is making a movie but, she's gone because they adopted a 10 mo special needs baby from Korea. She said that the hours on Grey's Anatomy are crazy but, working on a movie gives her more steady hours so she's taking a break to be with her baby and to have less crazy hours to work.

Am I the only one who loved last night's episode? I loved it! It kept my interest, it was intense, I had no idea where they were going or what was going to happen.

And I LOVED Christina at the end talking about how every single one of us makes mistakes every day that we don't get caught for. Heaven help us if we start getting caught and punished for every mistake we make.

I loved that and thought how true and how humbling that is.

I loved Lexi breaking down and then going back in. I thought that was such a true and human moment. I love how gentle Sloan is with her.

I think Sloan and Lexi are two of the most interesting characters and I really, really hope they do something with them.

Edited to add that I wished it had been the short haired new girl that had made the mistake and was fired. She doesn't seem to have an ounce of humanity in her. The girl with the longer hair who was fired was a better character, I think. I think they could have done more with her.

And I LOVED how Derek confronted the chief last night about how the woman's death was ultimately his fault because he is allowing the chaos. It's true. That's what I haven't liked about the last couple episodes - the constant chaos! I hope we get to see the old Chief - I hope things start to run more smoothly.

Shonda has been pretty clear that Ellen's pregnancy will NOT become Mer's pregnancy. Plus, Ellen Pompeo already had her baby and is back at work filming again, so that's no longer a factor.

I though last night's ep was really great. I loved Christina's speech at the end, especially. And Alex sitting there in front of the Chief saying "I hung up" and you just know it's breaking his heart that he hung up on Izzie and the patient died anyway, and he feels completely helpless. I also love that it's being (mostly) realistic in portraying how hard it would be for two teams to suddenly be thrust together and become one cohesive unit. I thought it was very telling that at the end of the last episode, the Mercy West team was standing alone on the bridge, and this week, the end had the mercy AND seattle grace residents standing together watching "one of their own" leave.

I TOTALLY agree about the wrong girl being fired. I don't like the short haired girl at all. I'm not really into this Mercy merger storyline but I do think they fired the wrong girl.

I loved how Derek contronted the chief, too and I'm sort of hoping the chief leaves/retires and Derek becomes the new chief.

I used to like Arizona but I'm so sick and tired of the writing for her -- she sounds like a highschool/teenager the way she rambles and for me it is just not professional.

Oh my gosh the interactions between Callie and her dad were amazing. The one at the end had me in serious tears.

I loved Christina's speech too! The Alex hanging up on Izzie thing was so heartwrenching I was misty-eyed.

The thing that REALLY made me lose it was when Lexi started crying in the room with that kid and later came back in.

I didn't think I'd like Derek narating last night, but I actually did! I thought last night was really good. Heartwarming and uplifting! The diaper stuff was hilarious!!! Go Lexi!!! Her diaper speech was awesome!
