Has anyone tried them with their dipes? I use hemp and indian cotton PFs and various covers, including wool; also I have some FBs/HHs.

I tried soap nuts for several months, on diapers and all else. They just didnt get things clean at all (no better than a wash with no soap).

Gosh, I was about ready to purchase some of these after reading nothing but positive reviews for the most part. Which brand/where did you get them? I so want these to work! In all my digging I found that the only one people had problems with was maggie's.

What do you use now?

I got some from laundry tree--just a small sample--and I've only used them a couple of times, but so far I LOVE them. They stripped my diapers that I didn't even know needed to be stripped. My FB's kept leaking, and I thought it was because I didn't have a doubler in, but no, after I washed with the soap nuts, they stopped leaking. And my diapers have never smelled so clean before.

Get a little sample and try them--they're not that expensive. You can make a soap nut soak with like six of them that will last for like ten loads.

Cavy, did you use hot water with them? You have to either use REALLY hot water or else make a soak with boiling water and use the soak instead of the nuts. Cold water won't get the saponin out of the shells and is exactly the same as washing with just water.
