this is my first year with black beans and picked them last night as we have had alot of rain and some were starting to mold. I will shell them this afternoon, how long do black beans need to dry before storing them?

I guess I will just leave them out on a towel in the dining room until they feel hard and dried out and then just store them in a container...now what to make with all of them

a little late but hope it helps... in the past I have harvested black beans by letting them dry in shells, you wait till the pods appear dry from the outside and when you shake them you can hear the beans inside. At this point the beans are already dry. but when in doubt you can always spread them over on a screen and let them dry for a few days more

Are all beans this easy to dry???

All you have to do for the season is to let them grow, correct?

If they are this easy then I am definately growing my own next year!
