Any suggestions for night diapering a tummy sleeping, heavy wetting, boy...??? Can't do wool...

He's wet upfront anyway because of anatomy but then when he tummy sleeps it compounds the problem. We can't do wool because I'm very allergic. I'd love to hear your suggestions.

What are you using now? Maybe we can offer suggestions based on what you already have.

We either use a fitted with wool or a triple stuffed Tiny Tush pocket dipe (2 mf and one hemp insert).

I use two prefolds. One trifolded & the other trifolded & then folded in half & placed just in the front, all iinside a pul cover.

I've been successfully using a premium pf trifolded in a Thirsties cover but the last few nights he's been wetting out of it. One of the key issues too is that he is day trained and immediately when he wakes up he wants to be able to remove the overnight diaper himself and put on undies. I am all in favor of his independence and want to encourage it but then of course that limits me on what I can try. kwim? can't do a fastened pf because then he can't take it off himself...etc.

I'd consider the ME sandy or toddlerease (depending on size) with doubler with AIr flow cover or even a Bummi/dappi pull on cover. Its a good nighttime combo and one he can manpulate himsself.

how about getting some toddler pfs and put all the extra up front and fold over so all the extra bulk is in the front. i dont have a boy....but a little girl with a super odd way of peeing up . i was doing the toddler pf with the bulk up front for awhile before she stopped peeing at night....sometimes i would even fold a MF in thirds and stick it right down the front of the cover too!

I sure like that idea since I have toddler pf's already but do you think I could use them in such a way that he could remove it himself??

I appreciate all of the suggestions

You can just trifold a prefold in the cover - no pins or snappi needed.

Can you use fleece covers? I've heard it works just as good as wool.

Those might work really well, I've heard good things about them.

We use a fuzzibunz with a super do insert, but im sure a fuzzibunz with 2 prefolds would work great too!

I second the idea of trying fleece, if you can't use wool. It breathes much better than PUL.

Yep, this is pretty much bulletproof. If you used prefolds underneath, you'd have to Snappi them on. I don't know if he could undo that. A side-snapping fitted diaper would be ideal, b/c he could slide them both up and down like underwear. I am getting a new one-size side-snapping hemp fitted in about a week by BabyKicks... I think that would be ideal. Until then, just try any fitted.

I always suggest the "wonder wrap" onesize cover over any diaper system you use at night.

DD is a heavy wetter and sleeps with her butt in the air, so we use an old-style haute pocket with 3 inserts. We have never had a leaking problem with them.

Ds is a REALLY heavy wetter and tummy sleeper and we haven't had a leak yet with our system. (not gonna lie though, when I change his diaper in the morning it smells pretty strong of pee, but I'm guessing that's normal for that amount of pee for that long a period of time.)

We use this fleece pocket dipe with the microfiber insert that comes with it and a super-do insert doubled over in the pee spot. It's pretty bulky up front but nothing else holds enough pee.

I've been putting him into some wool longies but you could use fleece pants or a fleece sleep sack.
