How long after your 'bloody show' did labour begin?

I've finally had some action over here. After being 0cm on Wednesday, and told not to expect any action until next week & my induction date, I lost my plug yesterday and today at noonish had the bloody show. I've been contracting all day, fairly strong and close, and regularly, but I'm not convinced that it's going anywhere.

How long was it for you, after seeing the above? What's the average? I know the mucus plug could be days or weeks, but what about when there is the blood factor?

I figure at the very worst I must finally be dilating if this is happening, but I don't know if I should get my hopes up beyond that.

Well I lost mine 2 weeks ago with blood and nada so far!
Oh and forgot to add - I've been contracting since Monday but it always just peters out.

I lost my mucus plug/had bloody show on Monday. Wish I weren't, but I am still pregnant! I lost mine after a cervix check. Here's hoping you got into labor soon though!

I had bloody show ... just a tinge and labor started right away but then stalled when DD woke up. The next day however more bloody show ... and full on labor with a new babe by morning Good luck!!!!

Well, it's hard to predict since it's possible that the cervical check is what dislodged your plug and led to the bloody show, you know? I had that happen with my first, and I was pregnant another 3 weeks still. But that's because the plug shouldn't have been dislodged.

With my second, I didn't lose my plug or get bloody show until I was in labor.

This time...I'm 2 weeks more pregnant than I was with my other two, no signs of losing my plug at all I did have some bloody show 3 weeks ago, but it was after DTD, so that doesn't "count" either.

Sigh.

If your body "naturally" shed the plug and is having bloody show, it typically means labor is very close, but since you had a check recently, you can't be sure, you know?

I never saw blood or a plug prior to my first three births, so I don't expect one this time. Sorry I can't be more help! I hope it means something will happen SOON!

With my son, when I first saw my bloody show I went into hard labor about 2 hours later.

Haven't yet with this baby yet.

for both of my births, i had long build ups, with increasingly intense and close together contractions. the bloody show came close to the end. the first time it was about 2 and a half hours before the actual birth, and this last time, it was about 4 hours before the actual birth.

this last time, we weren't sure if it was real labor until i got the bloody show. then we went to the hospital; lo and behold i was already 7 cm.

Yes I'm 3cm dilated last week and 60% effaced. When I lost my plug, I was 2cm and 60%. And I've been loosing my plug every day since Monday with no progress that I can tell - but hopefully I am dilating more (didn't get checked this week).

I had a little bloody show on Saturday morning, more on Sunday morning then lots more on Sunday night, went into labor about 1 am Monday morning and had her at 10:49 Monday night.

This time I had bloody show about 6:30am and started getting contractions at 10:30 and was in active labour by 1:30/2:00.

With my first, I was induced because I was overdue, so I can't tell you how soon after, but I remember losing my mucous plug days before I was induced and nothing else happened after that.

straight away with this one and my first.

With my first I went into labor about 12 hours after losing my plug. Cervical checks have never caused me to lose it...
When I lost my plug I had been dilated to 2 cm for over a week...I am assuming that the dilation increased in prep for labor that was to begin that night, which is what caused it to come out.

Haven't lost it yet this time...
