Stress causing real physical symptoms

Does anyone else have stress that causes physical symptoms? It's like whenever I'm stressed, I get some physical symptom, it bothers me for a while then either goes away on its own or goes away when I see a doctor and they tell me I'm fine.

It seems like my body is playing tricks on me because I never get the same symptom twice. A few years ago I had numbness in my face. I couldve sworn I was having a stroke or something similar. I saw a neurologist, had a battery of tests, he said it was stress and it slowly went away.

Another time I had stress I had severe pain in my lower belly. I swore my intestine must have burst. I got it checked out and as soon as they said I was fine the pain seemed to subside.

Right now I'm under a lot of stress and I have a new symptom. It seems worse when I concentrate on it (which is hard not to do)

I don't know how to stop this cycle. It's really making me nuts.

I do but its usually the same 2 symptoms, my wrists start killing me and I have to wear braces or I get stabbing pains in my chest. When I was a teen I would get horrible migraines from stress as well.

I get a burning pain accross the skin on my back. Very unpleasant - like a nasty sunburn.
It is hard to break the cycle - getting stressed about the stress! I find that things like improving my diet, getting exercise etc help in the longer term. Right away then a distraction - renting a good movie, playing a computer game or taking the kids out to the park can help.

I really hope you feel better soon.

Yup...happened to me ALOT. I tended to get stomach issues and also various muscoskeletal problems
The mind/body connection is very strong so this makes sense.

Please read up on adrenal fatigue. Because your adrenal glands are responsible for helping you deal with stress, when they are fatigued and don't work well, your body can't cope with it as well. Adrenal fatigue seems to be caused by stress as well - either a short period of very severe stress, or a long period of moderate stress.

YES YES YES! Adrenal fatigue can play a huge part in this. There are supplements that you can take to help support them, and there are compound hormones (cortisol, not cortisone) that can help as well. My back spasms to the extreme when I am stressed. I'll hobble around for days after a bad episode.
