Ideal Newborn Stash - Page 2

I'm all about simplicity when it comes to diapers.

36 infant prefolds
7 small proraps,
40 wipes
at least 4 snappis
oh and a diaper wipe warmer (I use prince lionheart)

I just pass my infants down. My best friend used them, she's going to give them to my brother and when he's done, I'll be ready for another baby!

I had 12 kiss a luv 0s, 24 Sandy's extra smalls, and about 6 newborn covers. They lasted me until about 10 weeks. So, yes it was more expensive than 'sposies, but we are planning to have at least 1 more baby, my SIL is going to use them too, and probably my Sister and at least 1 friend. I figure by the time they've been used for 4 or 5 babies, we'll have saved a fortune.

As I am now a more confident diaper-er I would likely skipped the kiss-a-luvs and added some prefolds to save money if I was doing it again, but on the other hand I love the convenience of the fitteds and the kiss-a-luvs were great for the tiny newborn stage.

My daughter went through 10 diapers a day from birth until she started to potty train. So for the number of diapers, I always go by 10 times the number of days I want to go between washings plus extras for laundry day and the diaper bag. I think 30 is a perfectly serviceable number.
