Having elbow surgery next month and they perscribe Percaset for pain. I still BF my 21 old, is this OK? And what about an anesthetic?

percocet is fine. and any anesthetic you are given, as soon as you are awake enough after it to physically hold your toddler safely, you are fine to nurse them
good luck with your surgery, and speedy healing!

Vicodin is safe as well. I just had Gallbladder Surgery and that is what I used.

I used percocet after minor surgery and my DD was 8 months old. I went under a general anesthetic and I was able to nurse as soon as I was awake enough to hold my DD with out dropping her.

Is that the same as hydrocodone? That's what I was given after my c/s, but I think it made DD more sleepy.
