I certainly don't think you need one or more of every kind of carrier out there -- if you find a carrier you love, it's OK to stick with just one.
It's also OK to realize that what works in the early months might not be as good later on, as baby's need and desire to be carried, or carried in a particular way, depends on age and stage, personality, etc. And your needs and preferences will change as baby becomes more active, as baby gets bigger and heavier, depending on your lifestyle, etc.
That said, I often analogize carriers to shoes -- different shoes fill different needs and activities, and it's the same with carriers. You don't need to have a closet-full of shoes like Imelda Marcos, but it's also nice to have a good comfy and supportive pair for walking/hiking, a dressier pair, sandals for when it's warm, etc.
A stretchy wrap is wonderful for the early months. If you have a newborn, I love a stretchy wrap for the newborn phase. I don't particularly care for a woven wrap in the newborn days, esp. if you're not familiar with using one yet, as it's harder IME to learn to wrap with. If your baby is already 4 months old (? -- as per your siggy) -- then I wouldn't bother.
A woven wrap can certainly be the most versatile of the carriers, but IME it also has the highest learning curve to a) really get it comfy and secure and b) learn all the different carries. I also don't like them as much for older, walking toddlers who want up-down all the time, as I don't like constantly tying and re-tying a wrap, esp. for a back carry.
I think the question of whether to get a woven wrap is very dependent on YOUR personality -- are you the kind of person who wants to take on a challenge and practice with a carrier that's got a higher learning curve, or do you want something that doesn't take as much practice? I think woven wraps are great for many people, but they're definitely not for everyone.
A ring sling is great for little babies for longer carries, or big babies/toddlers for shorter carries, IMO. A ring sling is very compact and easy to take along in a diaper bag for whatever babywearing need might occur. I really love the adjustability. I also like the tail as a built-in nursing cover/sunshade/weather shade. It takes a little practice but it's easy overall to learn.
My preference is for an unpadded or light padding in the shoulder only ring sling, with an open tail for adjustability. I don't care for big bulky padded slings or those with closed tails where you can't adjust the edges individually.
Mei tais -- I LOVE mei tais for front and back carries, especially for little babies. Learning the high back carry with my newborn in the Kozy changed my life.

I also think they're more secure and hands-free than a ring sling, and easy to nurse in.
SSCs -- hands-down my favorite kind of carrier.

I find them to be more ergonomic for me, easier and quicker to use than just about anything else, and nothing ever drags on the ground (unlike a wrap or mei tai straps). Once a baby gets big enough, I think they should mostly be carried on the back for ergonomic reasons, and I think a hip belt that transfers baby's weight to your hips enables you to carry a heavier baby longer than in just about any other kind of carrier. I think a well-fitting, comfortable buckle carrier is a good addition to anyone's carrier wardrobe, particularly for a) heavier babies, b) back carries, and c) that up-down stage where you want to be able to get them on and off very easily.
