I think I'd prefer something two-shouldered, for comfort. So far I've only carried my new babe in a Kangaroo Korner pouch.
I also own a moby wrap, and an ergo.

We did a 3 day fest back in July when my babe was 12 weeks with the Ergo. If you have an infant insert for it, that would be my rec. You could also consider adding a solarveil monkey pocket http://monkeypockets.blogspot.com/ if you are concerned about sun. We had 85 degrees most of the weekend we were festing and baby was fine with just sunscreen and lots of mama nourishment! 2 shoulder carrier is def the way to go. I couldn't have imagined all the hiking back and forth to stage and camp we did with a ring sling or pouch.

I liked the wagon because there was no way anyone could step on him (and it carts all your stuff to the show!)

i'd use a two-shouldered carrier, probably a MT which i prefer with tiny babies over a structured carrier. i happen to have a solarveil mei tai so that's what i'd use. something out of solarveil or solarweave would protect from the sun and be nice and breathable for both of you. i'm pretty sure i've seen at least 2 solarweave carriers on TBW in the last week, might be worth a quick search over there?
