Baby "standing" in Beco?

I just got a Beco (4th gen if that matters) and so far 2.5 mo DS loves it. He sometimes likes to "stand" in it though, with his legs straight and his arm out of the carrier, over the strap (he has to have his thumb available ). Is this ok? Obviously this is just around the house, when he is tired and resisting sleep; no bending over anything where he could slide out. Is this ok?

Mine have all loved to exercise their little legs at that age. Babies are so funny! They've all turned out fine.

Why are his legs in the beco? Shouldn't they be outside?

I had heard I could "frog" the legs at this age, is that not correct? I tried his legs on the outside but it didn't seem comfortable for him to have his legs splayed that far.

Hmmm. I guess if he is standing though it's probably less safe to keep him frog legged. If he arched his back and stood could he come out? That's all I'd be worried about.

No, the carrier comes up to his shoulders/neck, even with him standing. I have been careful, no bending or anything where he could come out, and I keep my hands on him.
