Baby PARROTS! I took the boys to a pet store near us, we like to go there and see all the animals, and it's a great learning experience for the boys. They're pretty much not afraid of any animal, be it a big dog, a slithery snake, or a slimey toad. They know how to handle the animals gently, too.
Anyway, they had 4 baby parrots there! 2 macaws (including a blue and gold, WOW beautiful!), an african grey (my favorite bird!) and a cockatoo. They were all babies, not fully feathered yet, still learning how to perch, still hand fed (the blue and gold macaw was sucking on my finger something fierce!! Obviously was hungry
) I got an employee to open the cage for us and we all spent about a half hour holding the BIG baby birds!!
I so wanted to walk out of there with that african grey!!
I was surprised at how maternal those baby birds made me feel...they're not good at perching yet, so they like to be snuggled against your chest, even the macaw who had a wing span of like 2.5 feet already! They were so warm and their whining noises stopped as soon as I snuggled them to me...aww!!
DEFINITELY put me in a better mood I just hope I didn't make the baby in my belly jealous!!!
