Is V8 good for you? Low sodium kind

Thoughts on V8? The veggie juice kind. I'm pregnant and looking for easy ways to get veggies in me. I don't have time to make my own version of V8.

I would say no because I don't think any of the store bought versions of juices are good for you. They are essentially the sugars from the fruits in a pasteurized form that eliminates a lot of the vitamins.

I know you said you don't have time to make your own version, but green smoothies are really quick and easy to make. Here's my recipe:

1 c. full fat yogurt
1 handful spinach
1/3-1/2 cucumber
6-8 frozen strawberries
1 banana
1 T raw honey

You get the whole food of each fruit and veggie rather than just the juice as well as the fat from the yogurt to help your body absorb all the vitamins. HTH!

I would just make smoothies instead. You just rinse things off and toss it in the blender.

You can use all sorts of things to make it even better like ground flax seeds or kale

Hmmm, well if you really can't get veggies in *any other way at all*, then it might help you get a few vitamins. But honestly, I would not say it is healthy. Probably it would do you more good to try to snack on veggies (with salad dressing, hummus, cream cheese, peanut butter... fat is important to help you absorb the nutrients in veggies) and/or make smoothies. For me roasting veggies (broccoli, beets, potatoes, carrots, brussels sprouts, rutabaga... almost anything) in the oven with olive oil and sea salt is what works best to keep up my veggie consumption. It makes either a tasty snack or a good side dish. And I think veggies are way better roasted than boiled or steamed. I even get DP to eat broccoli that way! And he says it's good! Which I never thought would happen in a million years
