Questions re: essential oil and wipes solution recipes

Okay, ladies. This is my first foray into cloth diapering at home. We used a diaper service with DD, but are going to be doing everything ourselves this time around. I have a few questions:
  1. I'd like to either use orange oil or lavender oil on the small fabric swatch of my WAHMIES pail liner to keep it smelling fresh. I'm not a fan of the way TTO smells, so are either of these good choices?
  2. Can I use orange oil or lavender oil in my wipes solution? Will either harm my babe's bottom or the diapers?
  3. Any suggestion for wipes solution recipes?

Thanks a million!

We use lavendar and TTO on our Wahmies pail, and both work nicely, so I think lavendar would be a good choice. We use wipe solution cubes that contain lavendar, and haven't had any problems, so I imagine that a drop or two would be fine

I've used both of those before, on an extra wipe in the pail and in the wipes solution. I just pick and choose, depending on what scent is closer. Both worked well and didn't cause any problems. I tend to use the orange oil more in the pail, and the lavender in the wipes solution. A drop of rosemary oil in wipes solution is nice too.

Thank you, ladies! It's good to know that both should be safe. Have you ever made your own wipes solution?

I fold about a days work of wipes in half and stack them in a wipes warmer. I have a combination tto and lavendar oil that I shake about a drop of into a cup. I fill the cup with hot tap water and pour over the wipes. This is the easiest, most effective way for us to do wipes.
