Hi there!

So this is my first time fermenting cukes and I just took them out of the fridge after a week or so or letting them mature. They taste GREAT! However, I noticed some of the pieces have a little bit of white, almost scummy, substance on them. It doesn't look like mold. It still smells good and, as I said, tastes really yummy!

Anyone had a similar experience? I thought it might just be large colonies of lactobacillus.

thanks!
