In search of cheaper, non toxic bubble bath

My kids love bubble bath but the healthy kind is so expensive. I've heard to use dish washing soap but that didn't work (maybe I used the wrong brand)? I don't care about scent or color, just bubbles & lack of toxicity. I'd love to find a good recipe or other solution.

We just use children's shampoo - like the Suave brand or whatever. I used to buy more expensive all natural shampoo for the kids, but after having an entire brand new bottle dumped out, I rethought the process. The shampoo seems to work well for bubbles in the bath.
