Anyone know of any software or links that outline your average paperback thriller chapter by chapter, including subplots and all that? For people who are great at writing short fiction but just can't get the pacing of the novel down. You know, the software that they all tell you not to get if you want to be a good writer.

You know I used to think it would be a horrible, creativity sucking thing, to have this...then I got to about 45 chapters and started a spreadsheet to keep track, now I go back and forth, figuring out where to insert new chapters, building on what I have and well, I think this might be a fabulous idea now.

Anyone who has any suggestions I'm interested as well...cheap or free would be ideal..lol

I don't know anything about software specifically for writers, but I have used FreeMind to make long outlines. It is nice because you can fold and unfold parts of the structure, depending on how much detail you want to see at once.
