Help: mobile babe = poopy diapers??

DS started crawling, pulling up, cruising, and getting to a seated position on his own, ... all within the past month and a half. He's 12 months old today. We had been catching virtually all poops, ever since he started solids at 7 months. Usually what would happen is that he would poop during a pottytunity right after one of his naps.

But since getting mobile, we've started having misses. For whatever reason he doesn't go after his nap. Then all the sudden I'll hear him grunting across the room.

Anyone else experience this? Any tips or ideas that might help? I suppose I need to stay near him as much as possible and just be super sensitive to the signs.

This is an extremely common age for a potty strike. It will pass eventually, but it may take months. Hang in there, most of us have been or still are there!!!

Might he be looking for privacy when he poops? Can you try leaving him alone on the potty after naps?

In my experience (with just one baby!) yes, mobile baby equals poopy diapers! From what I've read, some babes go back to using the potty after a relatively short period of time, and some babes (mine would be in this category) have poop misses for quite some time! But it definitely does happen! My babe seems to prefer to poop while standing up. Only recently (she's closing in on 18 months of age) has she enjoyed using her potty again.
