Hairy, Hippie, and Happy

Hello Ladies!

About a week ago, i decided to stop shaving- period. I relised that i am 21 and have never seen my body in its natural form, so i figured i would start (or stop, rather) with shaving. I FEEL SEXY! DH doesnt mind at all, not even the fuzzy armpits.

The other day, my mother came over for one of her visits () and noticed that i had armpit hair. She told me that if i wasnt going to shave 'then i dont have any buisness in a tank top'. She then asked me why havent i shaved. I told her that im sending a message to myself and anyone who notices those hairs sticking out: Im not going to conform to societys definition of beauty. I feel empowered and sexy. Im not 'gross', 'dirty' or 'unclean' which is what many think when they notice a woman chooses not to shave. My body is Sacred and beautiful in its natural form. I also told her that i though that it was sad that theres alot of other women out there who has never seen what their natural bodies looks like and many never will because that feel pressured to look a certin way. She just said 'well as long as you still shower...' . Lol. She also asked me if i only choose not to shave my armpits, or do i not shave 'everything else' either. I then reliped 'Lets just say that you better be glad that i didnt wear my low cut jeans today! " She left soon afterwards.

Im not sure why im so darn proud of my hairy armpits, but it just feels good to be natural. I never thought that having hair would make me feel this sexy, free and a bit on the wild side. Not to mention my 4 year old thinks its pretty cool too.

If you have any 'happy hairy hippie' thoughts to share- please do so! I would love to hear them. These thoughts can also including any 'natural' choices that youve made that just makes you feel darn good, such as cloth pads, no shampoo, natural/no make-up, dreads and so forth.

Thanks for reading and Thanks for sharing in advance!

i let my body hair go quite a bit-and i dont let other peoples thoughts bother me.

for weird reason i have a personal quirk that makes me really abhor my own pubic hair though, and im pretty anal about removing it, but let my legs go for months and months! lol.

Took me awhile to get use to not shaving under my arms. But the occasional ingrown hair from shaving provided incentive.

Once I got used to it, it's been a non-issue. Never understood the assumption that not showering regularly or frequently enough would go along with not shaving.

Dreads would not be natural for my hair though. No-poo works well, but if I'm in a hurry, I'll use DD's shampoo and conditioner. Hasn't made a difference. Been using cloth pads since DS was still in diapers, when I'm home.

Basically I adapt as needed. Being rigid in anything makes no sense to me.

I rarely shave my legs. I do shave more often in the summer bc I wear shorts more often and I have gotten some weird looks at the gym, but still not every time I shower. And I never shave down there that would be so weird to me. I am an adult and I want to look like it

even with all the hair gone, there is no way my vulva would ever be confused with a little girls.

Another non-shaver here. Have you gals run across the Tribe for Hairy Mamas yet? Lots of natural, hairy fun!
