Am I the only one that's sorta weirded out by the way it brings up your profile? I didn't join the fb group, so it doesn't afect me, but I would find it sorta disconcerting for my picture to be linked to my name and displayed like this on a public board.

I have my privacy levels set, and I realise that anyone who knew my name could find my fb profile, but somehow the idea of linking name and picture like that bugs me.

Yeah, I have my privacy levels set to the highest setting too, but I'm definitely NOT becoming a fan of MDC on FB, because I don't want anything about me, even my name, coming up in some random popup ad. Not cool, IMO.

Just popping in to add to the list of people complaining about the facebook ad. It seriously slow me down, and thus is cranky making. If there's a way to not have the pictures come up it would be less annoying.

I'm not having any problems and I am on a cable connection. I like the ad and was rather thrilled to see my photo up there once

I notice that the Facebook widget isn't up anymore. Thank you! I was also quite annoyed with the way it was slowing down my MDC time.

Yeah thank you for making it so we can dimiss notices! Once i"ve read them once I like to make them go away awesome!

Any word on the pop-ups? I have a pop-up blocker and never have pop-ups except on MDC. They're just annoying (Netflix, MyFace or MyWeb or soemthing). Just curious

Huh, it doesn't come up when I use new posts. It's been gone since I closed out the last one.

First--thanks for taking down the FB thing.

I'm not sure if anyone cares, but some folks who look at MDC at work (which I would never do because I am a state employee) get dinged for viewing blocked material when there are links to "social networking sites" like facebook included in the page.

So on behalf of those people, especially those in the capital of the second largest state in the union, I would suggest that FB may not be the best content for MDC.
