NY-Times article

I was just looking through the NY Times while waiting for my class to start when I came across an article in the Health Section on page D6. I just briefly read through it

Pregnancy Is No Time to Refuse a Flu Shot (article name). It was talking about how they moved pregnant woman to the top of the list to get the H1N1 vaccine, and because they are at the highest risk level for the H1N1 strain, and they want to make it well know that pregnant woman need the H1N1 vaccine (in the article they make it sound like a life or death situation). "Every effort needs to be made to alert pregnant woman and clinicians about the special risks of H1N1 during pregnancy."

It sounds like now they are going to try and scare pregnant women into getting vaccinated for the N1H1 virus, and they still want them to get the regular flu vaccine too. I am sure many pregnant women will rush in to get their vaccines scared that they will die of they don't.

And the ironic thing is that I was watching the news at noon here and it stated that the H1N1 is contraindicated for those whom their immune system is compromised and pregnant women and children under two... When the reporter was giving this news she was so cheerful about it because supposedly my state will have this vax sooner than we think. Uggh . Just the thought that many pregnant women will harm their lo thinking that they're doing the right thing by getting this vax is saddening

I'm convinced we're nothing more than guinea pigs to the CDC. If we don't die in numbers they think are significant enough, then it'll be declared a safe vaccine. It's ridiculous in every way though to be telling us, with compromised immune systems, to go get what is basically an experimental drug injected into our bodies and hope for the best, a drug that only entered clinical trials this very month!! Test this crap on strong people (volunteers, of course, who are interested) first instead of starting at the bottom and hoping for the best.
