Leg Warmers? or "Pants w/o a crotch"?

I have seen so many new things since I was CDing only a year and half ago. CDing seems to evolve over the years. This is another new thing I saw, and I am not even sure what to call them in order to GET SOME! Are they LEG WARMERS?? I see the babies with their diapers or covers showing and then their legs are kept warm (I am assuming for winter and we have a winter baby coming up and a toddler that I will be CDing with the baby) by these leg fitting "pants without a crotch. LOL I want to BUY some!!

So, you can spam me, that is okay. If you make them and have a website, please show me what you have. I do have some longies that I am working on getting. But, I am not familiar with wool. I want my cute diapers to show, but I don't want my baby's legs getting cold.

If they are easy to make (I don't knit), then tips on how to do that would be good too if that is what the moms are doing, but not selling. Kymberli

I have a friend who sells them, not sure if she has any up on her site right now though.

I like baby legs for during the winter, putting them on under pants, to avoid that "gap" that babies/toddlers get.

You can buy them commercially too, Target sells a brand called 'babysox"

TY. I did finally figure this out. If your friend has some for sale, I would love to see it. I so want to find plenty of these for my son who won't keep clothes on, and my baby girl due Xmas. They are too cute and so convenient. We will be pretty much homebound as it is, with having a newborn and a medically fragile child that the dr has ordered us to keep out of crowds. So, having the leg warmers and diaper showing will make changing so much easier, and I won't even have to worry about a cover as much. Kymberli

You can easily make your own baby legs using knee-high socks -- cut the socks off just above the heel, and then use the foot part to make a cuff to finish the part you cut -- does that make sense? If you can find cheap baby legs, great, and if not, you can often find cheap knee-high socks in various prints.

TY so much!!! That would so easy since I have a serger too. I think I saw some that were serged on the edges. OTOH, I have this HUGE to-sew list. LOL I did end up finding some that were reasonalbe and waiting with bated breath for them to arrive. Just a couple, so I can see if they will work okay. If they do, then I may be able to even find some at the thrift shops or the stores and make my own. I think I get what you mean. I will probably have to make my own anyway, eventually, as I will be lucky if I can keep up with them as well as we do socks around here. Kymberli

I have been eyeing these as well. I love to keep nb in gowns and these will help with my winter baby as well!

I wonder if we could upcycle the legs of a romper/sleeper with out feet and sew elastic around the top or use the arm cuffs so there's cuffs at the top and bottom.

I'm like you, though and have a million projects between baby and christmas and may just buy a couple pairs. (Or put them on my "just in case" registry-just in case ppl ask what I need...are baby legs a need?)

That is what I did!!! I have gotten in my 4 pair of girly newborn size, and then 3 pair of girly toddler size. One off etsy and one off Ebay. Now, I am just waiting on my 2 boy toddler size ones, which I think I got off a website. I can't keep clothes on him for the life of me. However, he was really eyeballing his little sister's baby legs, and then putting his dads socks up his legs. LOL How he even knew what they were for is beyond me. LOL These are a big MUST on ANY winter baby registry. And, sooo cute!! My DDs are now wanting some to put on their arms so they can still wear their tshirts. LOL My 14yo son thinks it is "stupid". Hehe...I love DIY babylegs.

After my 4mo ds was born, none of my regular clothing fit anymore and I was tired of looking like and being taken for a 16yo. (I'm almost 27!) So, I upgraded my wardrobe and consigned most of my fun socks to the recycle-for-crafts bin.

Recently, I took several of the less-girly pairs of toe socks, cut off the toes, and put the socks on my ds. They weren't shaped socks with a heel, just tubes with toes on the ends. That made them a perfect fit on his stubby, chunky legs...there's just enough length left that he can grow into them a bit. When he gets bigger/longer, I'll just break into my stash of fun knee-high socks.

That sounds so easy and wonderful, but I am afraid of pricing these types of socks, because ultimately, they may cost as much as the babylegs I have bought. And, I don't want to mess them up. Now, if I were to look at the thrift shop.....I may get lucky. That would be cool!! TY so much. Kymberli

Actually, I don't think I ever paid more than $2 apiece for my knee-high socks, and usually about $1.50 for my toe socks. I was cheap, and bought them on sale or not at all. I hope you find some similar deals!

Could you share me some store names that I might be able to get them at that price? I don't have much variety where I am at, but I do have a HUGE city an hour down the road that I have to go to get my fabric, so I can just make a pit stop. Kymberli
