Anyone use GAD or GM dipes?

Thread Starter
I was thinking of getting some GAD dipes, but I want to know what people think of them. I don't know whether to get the stuffable AIOs or the pocket dipes. Any issues w/ drying the AIOs? It seems like those might hold more.

We've been having some leak issues lately, but the BG seem to work best for my DD. So that being said, any suggestions about which type of GAD would be better?

And we've been using sposies at night because of the leak issues. My friend suggested Good Mama dipes. I think they are so cute! But really $$. Are they worth it for a toddler who can flood her dipe in less than 45 min!!?? What type of cover works best with them?

TIA!

I have one GAD AIO and I like at a lot. I'm actually about to order a couple more. They take longer to dry, but so do my couple of BG AIOs. Its not like its a big deal to restart the dryer once.

I had some GAD custom pockets that I liked because they were cute, trim, and had cotton inners. I didn't like that they didn't work too well stuffed with flats, which was what I wanted to stuff them with rather than paying for custom inserts.

I've never tried a GM diaper, but good grief, I'm SURE there's a less expensive nighttime solution. Two premium prefolds in a MEAF cover maybe?

i love our GADs. i turn the aios inside out so they dry faster. fleece isnt working for us right now so i was going to see if she could make us something with a natural inner. i dont think ive ever had a leak except when all our fleece started to repel, bah.

I have a few GAD pocket diapers but to be honest I'm not sure what to tell you. I got one on clearance from an online store and at first I hated it. It leaked all. the. time. I tried to sell it but couldn't find a local buyer so I kept it. Fast forward a few months and I tried it again, now it works okay. Maybe it fits differently now or I just didn't prep the hemp insert well enough, IDK.

But I now I have three (got a couple more second hand) and they're fine. Still iffy enought that I try to change him sooner if he's wearing a GAD than if he were wearing something else, like a BG or a double-stuffed swaddlebee, but generally ok.

If you've got a super-soaker you might want to look into Cricketts diapers. They're super absorbant, although I should also warn that they can be pretty bulky if your babe's on the small side of the fit scale.

I loooooooooooooooooooooove GAD. They're what dd wears 95% of the time, and ds2 wore them 100% of the time. No dropping or sagging, trim-fitting, adorable, USA. I prefer the AIO b/c of the convenience of not stuffing. I turn them inside out to dry, which is standard with any hybrid AIO. The pocket may be a better choice for a heavier-wetting child b/c the GAD inserts are super-duper absorbent. The hemp insert is totally worth the extra $2 b/c it is so trim and so absorbent, b/c it is hemp, so you will have to wash it a few times to prep it (and not with the diaper b/c it is a natural fiber and will release its oils and waxes which you don't want on the fleece.)

As for night, I'd think a Goodmama is a pretty pricey solution. My favorite is a GAD semi-fitted pocket with a few inserts and a Dancing Bears fleece cover. Bulletproof.

I loooooove my GADs. I bought the pockets because I was sick of waiting for AIOs to dry. They're super trim and so freakin' cute. I usually stuff with a folded microfiber towel.

I was thinking about trying their fleece pockets as a nighttime dipe, I just need to convince DH that we need more diapers.

I love GAD pockets but hate their AIO's. In fact we have one that we never use because I hate it so much. But both boys were only in their pockets for a long time. I hate that the insert thing gets twisted and I have to touch it and it grosses me out. I also hate that I can't take it out to boil it if it gets stinky. I like the GAD pockets with hemp inserts the best.

I can't do GM's because the rise isn't long enough for either of the boys and the exposed snaps leave horrible marks on their bellies. I also have issues with their customer service (sending out diapers with broken snaps, snaps not placed correctly, then making you pay to send it back, though they may have modified this policy). I just feel like for the money you could do a lot better.

I loved my GADS & Shannon is great! Our only problem was the fleese repelled more often than othe fleese dipes I think because it was a thicker fleese. I had a problem w/ a couple of mine & she took care of it quickly. We had the pockets.
