Need severe anti Candida diet - have to get biopsy done..

Hey all....

I have a really bad yeast infection and I know I have had pretty bad candida infestation for some time.

I found out today I have some invasive cells on my cervix and I have to have a biopsy done in about a month.

I need some help on figuring out what exactly I can eat (not a do not eat list) to get rid of this infection before I go in to have this biopsy.

I have not eaten any grains except rice and some corn (in the form of corn and corn chips) in the last month. I only eat apples (1 a day) no other fruit. I rarely eat dairy. Im not super big on fermented foods other than sourkraut ( I wont drink kefir or anything, makes me ill just to think about it) I have not been super careful on whats in sauces and stuff, so I imagine those are going to be gone..
I eat lots of eggs, meat (all forms) fish, veggies...some nuts.. some sugar, and some coffee.. potatos and squashes..

I know I need to go super strict so I can get rid of the yeast and get ready for this procedure...

Can you all help me?

If I were in your position, I would combine conventional anti-fungal medicine (cream or diflucan) with sugar-free diet. What you eat sounds good, exept for some sugar and potatos. I'd also add some garlic and coconut oil to your diet. Plus a good brand of probiotic: 50-100 billions a day.

I have had severe candida issues for years and for the first time ever I have it under control and I feel like I'm actually winning! For me the secret was eating a paleo diet (aka primal diet). I eat meat, fish, eggs, nuts, veggies and fruit. Coconut products such as coconut milk, oil and flour are included in it. There are many ways to do it but for me I had to stop eating not only sugar but also all grains before I saw any significant improvement.

I'd be happy to discuss it with your further if you need help. I feel lucky to only have been dealing with candida!

I have to agree with Dogmom... for us it was a removal of grains and sugars and the addition of fermented foods and coconut oil as our main cooking oil.

I think The Body Ecology Diet deals most specifically with candida and have heard a lot of good reviews, but we have not read this book yet.

Good luck!

A few years ago I was having recurrent yeast and other infections, followed by two abnormal pap smears, between levels 3 and 4 in severity of cervical dysplasia. My gyn recommended a cone biopsy but I refused. I made some major dietary and lifestyle adjustments and 3 months later got a normal result for the pap. I have had no infections since, even during my last pregnancy - and all paps have been normal.
Here is what I did:
-Cut out almost all refined sugar, white flour, caffeine and processed foods. I did allow myself maple syrup and honey from time to time.
-Ate lots of raw foods - especially cabbage, garlic, leafy greens, onions marinated in balsamic vinegar.
-took supplements including propolis, spirulina, vit E, vit C
-did lots of epsom salt baths with lavender and tea tree essential oils added
-used plain yogurt for topical relief of itching and discomfort (quark or cottage cheese on a pad in your undies is also good, weird though that sounds)

As far as lifestyle changes, I did a lot of journaling, took a lot of "me time", focused on and pictured myself being healthy and whole and free from infection, went to the health spa and went in the saunas, steam rooms and mineral pool - that type of stuff.

Hope it all works out for you.
