Rejecting one side, only sometimes- any ideas?

We had thrush last week and it has just about cleared but we are still treating both of us with GSE (that's what kicked it) for a few more days to be safe. My left breast is the only one that still "feels" like there may still be a little thrush in it. Weird thing is, DS sometimes rejects righty. Sometime he takes it no problem, sometimes he FREAKS OUT. He will freak before I even have him to the right nipple. It will take a long time to calm him too. The only thing that will get him to latch to righty at that point is a nipple shield. After a few seconds I pull off the shield and he sucks away at righty no prob. Both nipples protrude and the breasts are relatively shaped the same.

Any ideas wise BFing mamas? Anyone else with one-sided babes?

I can definitely relate. I am very lopsided from the lack of preference for my right side.

What I read on Kelly mom was to always offer that side first. And try holding the baby the same way you hold him for the left side, so the same side is up. She finally takes my right side some, but still not consistantly...

I am freakishly lopsided/// but I dont worry about it too much - just feel bad for hubby, since it is not aesthetically pleasing, i'm sure... I am amazed how hard it seems to be to get back supply once it has diminished. I do keep trying, but it seems to be taking forever.
