Non Flu Vax Military Mamas

My dh is required by the military to get the spray mist flu vaccine this month, I'm choosing not to get a flu shot. He tried to get the regular shot because I'm pregnant and I was concerned about him giving me the flu, but they said he still has to get it. Is anyone else who's dhs have to get the spray, concerned at all about catching the flu from them. If so, what measures are you taking to keep yourself safe?

I have military-wife friends who are just going to not be kissing their hubbies for a few days. They aren't going to be kicking them out of the house or making them sleep on the couch or anything.

And really, getting the flu while pregnant isn't a guaranteed death sentence like the med industry makes it out to be, otherwise I've been dead about 4 or 5 weeks and am a zombie typing.

He can get the shot off-base, pay out of pocket. We just did this on Monday. The clinic refused to give him the shot, so he said fine, can I get it off base then? no problem.
He got that pink sheet from the med clinic, took it to Walgreens, got the friggin shot and brought it back. Done.

The same procedure is allowed for the swine flu shot which they will get within the next 4 weeks. It is the live swine flu mist. We actually opt for it, as it has less offensive ingredients than the shot, which might have squalene and god knows what. He will live in the guest bedroom and just Lysol everything, like last year when he got caught off-guard and got the Flumist and DS was only 8 weeks old. We are just cautious, he will be using throw-away utensils/cups and wipe everything down. I'm not really scared of either version of the flu, but knowingly having close contact with someone who carries the live virus is kinda not a good idea.

I would do that in a heart beat if it was possible. But, we are over in Italy. We can't go off base to the Italian hospital, I'm not sure if they do flu shots here or not. I know you can't run to the pharmacy here, you need a prescription from a doctor to get flu medicine, I'm sure a shot is no different.

I really didn't worry about it. He got sick from it none of us did. We did all get sick about 2 weeks afterwards but it wasn't from the flu it was the dreaded Swine flu we got. Yea, we are still alive and ticking.. he still has to get the swine flu vaccine, go figure.
